When I booked the suite room, it was for 3 people (2 adults 1 child). When we got to the room, there was a double bed and nowhere else set up to sleep. When I raised this with reception they said they could set up the sofa as a bed, which I agreed to and this was to be done when we were out for dinner. When we came back, I wanted to put my 5 year old straight to bed, but no one had been in our room to set this up. I then had to go down to reception 2 more times to ask them to set up the bed, which they eventually did, but it was about an hour after we had arrived back from dinner. I would have appreciated everything would have been ready for when we arrived at the room considering I booked it for 3 people

We have stayed before and its our 'go-to' hotel when staying in Edinburgh This time though we had issues with the shower head and one of the radiators, but we told reception Breakfast is good, although poached eggs were hard this time who wants hard poached eggs? Overall a great hotel though

When we arrived and checked in, the room felt rather tatty and didn’t really look as nice as the pics online, after our first night, the toilet flooded the bathroom and we realised the kettle didn’t work. Reception rectified both issues quickly, new kettle and moved us to a new, upgraded room. The upgraded room was not much of an upgrade, again a bit of a tatty room, very cold and cobwebs on the ceiling! There was a bathroom fan that wouldn’t turn off, so constant noise, I told reception and someone came up to sort while we were out for the evening. Overall the staff were very nice and helpful, the hotel just didn’t meet expectations I had from the nice pictures online, I feel the rooms are in dire need of an upgrade and wasn’t worth the price we paid.

Excellent location in Edinburgh and 3mins walk from the tram… fabulous restaurants on the doorstep just loved location. Room and facilities fab for weekend break, we ate out each day had a drink in the hotel bar staff all just lovely highly recommend for an Edinburgh break
