Perfect for old Florida charm

This is a lovely 'old Florida' hotel. Yes, it could use a refresh here and there, but it's charming, perfectly located for Winter Park, and has absolutely fabulous staff.

Back in Time on Park Ave.

Staying in Winter Park on Park Ave is a defined treat for adults. Lodging with Park Plaza Hotel was fun but the rooms needs updating in the bathrooms - old shower heads, non-enviromental toiletries, toilets that are pulling away from the walls, all speak to a refresh for the price. It's charm is there - the staff is lovely, the elevator speaks of a different time and shouldn't be changed. It's a time-capsuled treat without luxury.

I have a love for history, and this property is unique and has such potential...but alas, the history at the PPH is written with clogged tub drains, sticky floors, dirty carpets and threadbare furniture. If i could change only one thing, I would have stayed at the Alfond. Tighten ip this ship before it sinks!

Great location, but paper thin walls and windows. They are not kidding when they give guests earplugs and say a white noise machine is available. We could hear EVERY single thing from our connected room. The Mediterranean restaurant across the street pumped music until midnight. Definitely not the place to go for a restful night.

The rumors are true: this place does charming in all the right ways. Everyone at the front desk/door is super nice, the wood & brass-ness is perfectly aged, room was a nice size for 2 (might've been hard to get serious work done without the other person hearing everything, but that's the way it is with old architecture). (It's also so perfectly located and reasonably priced that it would have to be really bad to *not* start from 3.5 stars for those two points alone. But it outdoes itself.)
