I loved the log cabin feel of the place and the mini kitchenette. Things felt cozy. The private deck was outstanding, and with a beautiful view of Superior.

Solbakkon has kept the old school feel of the lake resort. We stayed in the motel part that was pet friendly. The room was dated, but expected. Everything was clean. A small kitchenette and dishes where perfect for breakfast. Walking around the property was beautiful. And the lodge was great with games and hang out space. The staff was friendly, even sweet treats offered!! We also stayed warm and comfortable in negative degrees.

Bathroom was old with almost no water pressure in the shower. During a shower the temperature suddenly went from hot to cold and stayed that way for a few minutes before it warmed back to lukewarm so I could rinse off. The bed had a noticeable sag in the middle leading to a sore back in the morning. The view from the room was fantastic, the majestic Lake Superior in all its splendor. The place was dog friendly and the staff was nice and helpful.

Affordable base for exploring the Lutsen area

Solo trip up to ski on the North Shore Solbakken was a great affordable option to stay. Room was cozy and had all the basics for a great stay

The folks at Solbakken were very kind and down to earth. They helped me jumpstart my car in the cold for about a half hour and were very hospitable! The cabin was cozy and had all you would need. Great stay thank you guys.

Best deal on Lake Superior

Great spot on Lake Superior! Very dog friendly. We stayed in the motel and loved that it had a nice little deck off the back to watch the lake. Will definitely come back.
