Lighthouse 809 was clean and is centrally located…not sure that you can get a better location for beautiful views of the Gulf of America. While it is clean and in a great location, theunit is badly in need of a total update of furniture and accessories.For example,There is not a pot holder in the unit so we had to use a towel and wife got burned.Most of the furniture throughout is out dated and shows its wear and some drawers were not operable.The flooring last installed was not completed as quarter round is missing, some is just laying on the floor behind furniture, in almost all of the non-tiled areas.The shower in the main bedroom has a hole in the wall at the shower head.The refrigerator makes a loud almost constant humming noise.The furniture on the deck needs to be updated as it is very rusted. Individually, the items above may not be major but collectively they make the unit look old and uncared for and not what we expected at a Lighthouse condo…in which we stayed before.The management staff promptly replied to questions and were able to resolve our issues.

Great location

Pros- easy check-in, great location, amazing view, the balcony was perfect for morning coffee and eating meals, furniture was comfy, and while the building was big- it didn’t seem too busy. Cons- the condo could use a deep clean (a lot of dust and dirt on wall art and curtains), the tv in the bunk room had no cable box so couldn’t use it, loose screws on the bunk beds, only 1 small dish towel was given Overall, it was a great trip and we would visit again!

Read the reviews -unit needs work

There were things mentioned in the reviews that I thought would honestly have been fixed by now. Unfortunately, that was not the case and when I emailed the property manager before our stay they had indicated the property was fine. However, the flooring in the master bedroom is cut inconsistently with the walls and there are gaps between the floor and the wall. There IS mold in the master bathroom that has been painted over (can’t hide mold though) and the shower in the guest room leaks. The couch in the living room is gross and the tv is tiny. Overall, the location is a prime spot but the unit needs a LOT of work. Figured the owner doesn’t care cause the unit will continue to be rented. Going to go back to Southern Rentals next time.

Loved the location but this unit really needs some attention. The showers leak and the master bath had water damage on the baseboard. We couldn’t use that shower due to leaking. The furniture was dirty and worn out. We spread sheets out to sit on the sofa. The bedroom dresser was beat up looking and the drawers fall out when opened It’s a really nice unit but please fix those things.

The only problem we had was the bath towels were totally awful we had to use our beach towels (they were water resistant) and didn’t have a plug for the bathtub. Other than that it was great and would stay there again

Ok for Spring Break Types

Great size. Great location with beach access and nice pools. Had to walk through a dark parking area or go outside to get to fitness area. Didn't feel comfortable doing that at 6 am. Never stayed in a VRBO with such crummy furnishings, including the TV. However the bed was comfortable, even though the king-sized bed had a queen sized (or smaller) flat sheet that obviously didn't fit the bed. Furniture was stained, broken, worn out. We were on a working vacation. Weekend was fine. But come Monday we had to find a coffee shop to work since interior jackhammers were going on all around, but especially next door. Ask for a credit since we couldn't stay in the condo during the day, but we were refused.

Understand what you’re getting

A little better than camping. Rooms had a dampness that AC couldn’t get rid of. Some outlets didn’t work. Bathrooms were gross around edges; shower heads need replacing. Dishes in cabinets were dirty. Only bath towels provided, no beach towels. Extra soap could not be procured from the front desk; told to go buy at the dollar store. Bedroom TVs didn’t work. Plates and cups stained and chipped. Furniture missing knobs and trim. Beach was nice. Pools seemed clean. Nearby restaurants were excellent. Felt safe. Just hard to get help.
