Horrible experience - would not recommend

My stay was completely unacceptable. The room was filthy — the TV had gunk that was smeared on it, the walls were dirty, the back of the bathroom door was black with grime, and there was a chunk of the wall missing under the sink to the right that looked like they had a leak and tried to fix it a long time ago. The faucet knob came off when you turned the shower on, and the final straw was water was seeping up through the tile floor in front of the sink when stepped on. I called the front desk and it was “ok”, I’m going to have a talk with the housekeepers. Had it not been so late, I would have left immediately. I left my number with the front desk for the General Manager to call me because the front desk clerk said he would be in at 10:30 when I asked to speak to someone when I checked out — I never received a call. When I followed up, the front desk clerk said that she spoke with him and to call the manager on Monday. To me, this is absolutely not acceptable customer service or satisfaction.

The property did not uphold my reservation for my stay despite the fact that I had called and confirmed my reservation the day prior to my arrival. There were several large events going on in Foley that weekend and I paid $500 more for my last minute reservation than I had booked the reservation for. In my brief time in the reservation office, I found the hotel to be dirty and cluttered. The guy at the desk Scott was rude, dismissive and unapologetic about the whole situation. They overbooked. Own it. A lot could have been done including calling customers with reservations. Notification earlier in the day would have saved me about $150 off the reservation I made at 11 PM. Bottom line, do not book here if you really need a place to stay or your bail out, if you can find one, might be very expensive. Also, I asked Scott to at least refund me immediately since they didn’t have my reservation. He didn’t do that either. I was calling Expedia at 1:30 AM and it still didn’t roll off my credit card immediately.

Our room was dirty. It had no phone, no sink stopper to use the sink full of water, and blood stains on the pillowcases. The blanket on the bed was not large enough, but I had my own blanket to use instead. The people around us were loud and arguing, but with no phone, we could not call the desk to let them know. There was no ice machine, and the key for getting in was not working right, and it took us three trips up to the office to help us. Thankfully, it was only one night. I will never stay in a Super 8 Motel again.

The place was filthy. I had to ask for a shower curtain plus the bath tub was so dirty I had to go buy cleaning supplies to clean it properly to shower after being on the road for 16 hrs. The floors were so sticky we laid our top blankets from the bed down for “carpet” so we didn’t stick to the ground and have dirty feet. The staff was ok but didn’t even take garbages when placed outside the door. I’ve stayed at 4 other super 8 n never had this issue. Definitely didn’t think it would be like that with it being so close to the Gulf Shores

Not so bad but could be better

The guy at the front desk was great! Very helpful and friendly! The rooms were just ok. It looked clean but just felt dirty. It’s a good room to get if you need a one night stay but definitely not more than that. The room was non-smoking but yet you could smell smoke on the pillows. The floor just looked dirty. Small tv, small beds, and one or two weirdos roamed the property. Next time I will pay the extra money for a better room at a different hotel.

Room smelled terrible, stains in bedding, room AC not working properly and rusted, we checked out as quickly as we checked in. Parking was difficult with a truck, very busy area at 10 PM. Lots of noise, people hanging around. Pool is extremely small. Pictures are very misleading.

Fishing the pier

The rooms were updated wonderfully. Lighted well, 2 sinks, good storage. The only negative about the room was that the tub was slippery. The area is walking distance to food and shopping. Great location.

This hotel did a bait and switch what was listed on the website as nice and clean is a lie. My room had a coffee maker and said spit out mold. When I dressed it with management they lied and said it was just too much coffee. I have pictures to show it's mold. The microwave had rust inside it and didn't work. Not to mention it was extremely filthy. On top of that there was bed bugs in the room and when I brought that ups and management but they did nothing. I would give this hotel zero Stars if needed to. They do not accommodate bits. They do not give any military discounts and the whole experience was just a waste of time and money. I'm very disappointed and really wish I would have got my money back. I left 2 days early and they still charge me full price.
