We usually stay at Hampton Inn when we travel, but just needed a quick overnight stay, so we chose Microtel for its convenience and location. The room all common areas were very clean. The beds were super comfortable, & we were especially impressed with breakfast!! We expected maybe cereal and something cold, but they had quite a variety, from Special K with strawberries (first I’ve seen a higher grade cereal) to Jimmy Dean sausage egg & cheese's croissants, to a pancake machine! I was also impressed that they had regular & sugar free syrup! They also had yogurt, muffins, packs of oatmeal and grits, and prob some other things I’ve forgotten. There was juice, milk, coffee and fountain soda. What really made the stay for us was the overwhelming helpfulness and kindness of Mike from the front desk! When I went to ask about spoons, he didn’t just tell me where they were, but got up from cleaning something behind the desk & came out to show us the dispenser & how to use it. Then when he asked about our day ahead and we said we had a 6:30 doctor’s appointment, he went back behind the desk and brought out a plastic bag to put our breakfast in that we were taking with us! Later he overheard someone say something about the pancake machine & came over to show them how to use it. He was right there for every need before anyone even asked! The other workers were friendly and helpful as well, but Mike was the shining star! Based on this stay, we will definitely stay at Microtel again!

Maintenance & Room Staff be more aware of room products not working. Microwave needs replacement & updated, TV remote needs batteries or replacement/Room #314 reported to front desk/management. Just small necessities like this makes a stay awkward. Just 1 night stay.
