In desperate need of refurbishment

We checked in pretty late and the guy at the front was nice enough. Check-in was quick and easy. Upon first glance, the hotel is dated and could use a refurbishment. The second the elevator opened on the second floor, our experience went downhill. The carpet and walls were dingy, stained, and torn up. There’s a noticeable smell of smoke and potentially cleaning products, despite “no smoking” signs everywhere. The room was equipped with basics, but again, the smell was terrible and it was dirty. The bed seemed okay, but literally everything else around me looked like it needed a deep cleaning. There was a lotion bottle label stuck to the window. Surfaces were scuffed and dingy. The A/C unit had a bunch of dust and dirt in it. There was a hole in the bathroom wall and the faucet was gross. The headboard didn’t look like it had been wiped down. My sister and I ended up resting for a couple of hours but left by 2am because we just couldn’t settle.

We always stay here when passing through Hattiesburg. On this stay we noticed the carpets are getting very worn and dirty and need to be cleaned/replaced. Other than that, everything was fine.

We checked in and walked into our room. First thing, the lights didn’t work. When I was able to get one lamp to turn on, a massive cockroach was in the middle of the floor. I ran out of that room so fast- It was disgusting. We luckily got another room that was a bit better but not exceptional. The excuse they told me of why the bug was in there as they are all over the property and that you’ll see them come through the front door too. We are from Florida and deal with them plenty, they are not around this property ha. It was gross.

Have been to this facility twice previously! Has went downhill, had to ask for assistance to open door, watch tv which was way to small, and work A/C unit! Bathroom had no grab bars for assistance getting in/out of shower for handicapped, breakfast no words for that!!

The staff was very kind and welcoming! I enjoyed the room. Clean, comfy bed. It got the job done. Dislikes: Fitness center had zero air circulation. It was a hot box in there. Some noise at night, but given proximity to the interstate this makes sense.
