I've stayed here several times in the past. I've seen all the improvements that have been done over the years to this place. I appreciate all the effort put in by the owner and staff. My room is always neat and clean, with a very comfortable bed. It seems the 2 side chairs were replaced by 2 padded benches, which were convenient for me. There was still a good size easy chair, and a table with 2 chairs. Usually I can find some small issue to write about, but I really can't think of one this time.

The stay was nice.

The stay was very nice. Quick and friendly check in. Gave us first floor room as requested. The room was fine except the AC/Heat was rather weird. Heat would come on and then blow cold. We did not try the breakfast. We would stay here again.

Here’s a rewritten version suitable for Hotels.com review standards: --- I had a very disappointing experience at the Emerson Inn in Jacksonville. Upon arriving late for check-in due to a family emergency—a death in my family—I was met with unprofessional and disrespectful behavior from a staff member (possibly the owner). The staff member was visibly frustrated, shaking his head in his hands, and even raised his voice at me. He also claimed there was no room available and attempted to sell my reservation to someone else. This was incredibly upsetting given the circumstances, and I felt humiliated and unwelcome throughout the interaction. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. If you’re considering staying here, I suggest looking elsewhere for a more accommodating and professional experience.

Although the property is old and a little run down, it is well managed. They do well with what they have. I was pleasantly surprised given the price.
