The rooms are on the slightly older side, so this also means they are in need of a bit of TLC. They are clean, comfortable and great for a holiday!

The room is clean and the bathroom is spacious. The dinner at the hotel's restaurant was also delicious. It was a bit disappointing that the two bottles of water in the room were not free, and there was no power outlet near the bedside. De-Caffeine coffee is not available. No indoor slippers are provided.

Hotel looks old now. AC not working well. Water low pressure for shower. They tried to charge me for hotel parking that I already paid via online. They double checked and said I’m right. Need to watch out this to avoid double dipping from them.

Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston feels like it used to be a great hotel and still has the bones to be one again. The location is excellent and the rooms are a good size, but sadly the interiors are badly dated. The décor feels tired, the carpets are worn and stained, and there’s a heavy use of air fresheners that seems to be masking the smell of carpets that are well past their use-by date. It’s a pity, because with a proper refurbishment this could easily be a standout hotel. As it is, it’s adequate for a short stay, but well short of what it could and should be.

Older building, reflected in the price. The room was looking fairly dated compared to the reception area, with a shower over a bath Separate wardrobe area was convenient to store two suitcases. Checkin was a bit hit and miss, we turned up 30 mins early and were told we would be called when the room weas ready but we were not so eventually enquired. There was roadworks going on outside which started early, not a major issue was we were still on NZ time but would have been nice to have it mentioned and maybe a back room offered instead.

Stayed on two separate occasions over a week, level 4 was great and had been renovated and included all the expected items. Level 1 was budget at best - very tired and in need of repairs. Items missed from the tea and coffee station. Showers were hot on both occasions and the bed was comfortable.

The room was surprisingly spacious with great in-room amenities and a very comfortable bed, making for a relaxing stay. I was also impressed with the room service menu – plenty of good options and everything arrived fresh and well presented. The only downside was the parking. I had pre-booked a space, but on arrival there were none available, which was disappointing and inconvenient after a long drive. Overall, a pleasant stay with excellent room comfort, but parking reliability needs improvement.
