Excellent stay! Very remote, peaceful, and beautiful. Large very nice rooms feels like you're staying with family. The hostess Sky is very nice and very helpful. Restaurant on location also. Local Hotspot they have bingo and little concerts and karaoke but are all wrapped up and quiet at 9pm. Highly recommend
Will definitely be back. Delightful stay and experience. So many little details that bring charm and comfort. Beautiful and unique fixtures and furnishings. Kind and accommodating staff.

Unique property up a 5.5 mile gravel road- we knew that before going. We were advised by a pleasant staff member by phone the day before that the onsite restaurant/bar would be c!osed which was disappointing given the remoteness of the inn.We opted to stay anyway but had to drive almost an hour away for dinner. Upon arrival, I had to call someone to check us in - no explanation of anything- just took us to our room. Hallway is very dark, but the room had just been cleaned. No AC, but not really needed- fan in window and ceiling. Bathroom had empty soap and shampoo dispensers. Overall, a fairly comfortable night. Lobby dark in the morning- helped ourselves to continental breakfast and checked out without seeing a soul. Just not quite what we expected when booked. Need to mention that the restaurant is a separate entity from the inn, so not their fault it wasn't open.
This place isn’t just a stay but an experience. It’s a couple miles down a gravel road and you don’t have any cell service. They have no air conditioning but it gets cool enough there to sleep with the windows open. I actually really enjoyed it, it’s a very cute resort on top of a mountain and the food is very good also! I was worried about the no air but they do have a box fan and WiFi with some comfy beds so we were happy!
This unique property is a must! It’s quaint and quiet. The location is beautiful and away from the hustle of cities. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area!

Restaurant was closed due to staffing problems. However the property was nice .
I booked this after reading good reviews and had high expectations. I was very disappointed. The property sends out several messages before hand. So I thought they had everything together. My family shows up at 4 for check in, no one can check us in. They told me I would need to wait, and could sit in the restaurant. Oh and by the way the restaurant would be closing early at 5. My daughter ordered a salad. It would have been nice if they had offered to pay for her meal since we were waiting but no. The restaurant closed and we still were not checked in by 5pm. It was very aggravating. The breakfast was a big disappointment. We were never offered any “breakfast sandwich” due to the restaurant wanting to close early. This was a huge disappointment in our stay and would not recommend. Save your time and money. I will never stay here again

There was karaoke and loud music until 10 pm. Then I had some people talking under my window.
This quaint lodge may be more suited for wintertime …
We didn’t mind the 5.5 mile dirt road trip up the mountain to find it … gps from the Montrose side took us right there.
For me … that’s where the rustic charm began to fade a bit. They were understaffed. I waited to check in while a phone call from the clerk took precedence. There was NO A/C … just a fan in the window screen. This would not have been an issue since we came from our home @ 9300’ in Westcliffe, CO. However, there seemed to be a lot of road traffic until about 9 in the evening … and our ‘deluxe’ king was on the dirt road side. It was dusty. It was a bit noisy. I wanted to close the window, but would have had to move the fan and chance being too warm.
We decided to eat dinner at the Lodge … they were severely understaffed. There was one young lady serving as both bartender and waitress. We wanted to eat outside so we asked to be served there. The dining room was filling up, so she told us she might not be able to deliver our food outdoors since she was the only one working. So, we carted our meals and drinks outside ourselves.
The outdoor area was nice and family friendly. There were places to play yard games. We enjoyed that vibe. After our meal, we bussed our own ‘table’ and returned our plates and glasses inside. Two hamburgers and two beers were $40.
We went to bed early. The bed was so hard my hips hurt lying on my side. So … I didn’t sleep. We left @ 5:30 the next morning …
