Wouldn’t Recommend – Poor Service & Dirty Rooms
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Hyatt Chelsea, and I feel compelled to warn others before booking.
From the moment I arrived, the customer service was cold and unwelcoming. The front desk staff were passive, unhelpful, and borderline rude—not just to me, but to other guests I witnessed being dismissed or brushed off.
The room itself was far from clean. Linens looked like they hadn't been changed, the surfaces were grimy, and the bathroom wasn’t up to standard. It didn’t feel like a space that had been thoroughly cleaned—especially concerning given the price point.
To make matters worse, housekeeping didn’t show up until after 6 PM, if at all. When they finally did, it was clear they were rushing through the bare minimum. There’s no excuse for that kind of delay or lack of attention to cleanliness in a hotel that claims to be reputable.
Amenities? Practically nonexistent. One tiny bottle of water per room for $6 is laughable. No complimentary basics, no hospitality. It honestly felt like they were cutting corners at every turn.
This wasn’t a one-off bad moment—it was consistently poor across the board. Between the dirty room, lack of care, and miserable guest service, I wouldn’t recommend the Hyatt Chelsea to anyone. In fact, I’m actively seeking a refund. Save your money and your peace of mind—stay elsewhere.
