This is such a cute retro hotel. It’s in a walkable location. The vibe and decor are fun. We loved the donuts, cola, moon pies, coffee, popcorn, and lemonade. Front desk staff was helpful and welcoming. If you are able to bring your own fan, it will help because the room doesn’t get super cool. Everything was great until the final day when housekeeping g kept pushing us to leave. After telling them what time we were leaving, they came to the room twice to come in while we were getting ready. They even open the door before we could go over to answer the door. It was very unprofessional and a terrible way to end our stay on Father’s Day.

Favorite spot in Savannah! We’ve stayed here 3+ times now. Perfect location that’s walkable to downtown and River Street. The staff is always very kind and goes above and beyond. The icing on top? The complimentary donuts are absolutely fantastic.

Overall the rooms were clean. We did get moved twice because the first room, we could r get my husbands cpap plugged into the outlet by the bed, the second rooms door wouldn’t lock and the 3rd room we stayed in. The Inn definitely needs some major updates. I understand it has a retro theme but two of the rooms were rusting on the walls and you could start to see through the bottom. Also, some outlet covers were gone and one phone didn’t work. However, the desk attendant was very helpful and the doughnuts were great.

Stayed here for the experience of a motel and this I would say is probably one of the better ones . Done on a 60s theme it is delightful. I would recommend getting a room on the upper level as it can get noisy in the morning.

This is an older property and you can tell, however the staff is amazing. The rooms are overall clean and tidy. This isn’t the Ritz so expectation of the guest should stay in perspective. The location is across from the bus station and located on a busy corner, this limits the ability of the hotel to maintain a clean property and a peaceful environment. Distance to the historic Savannah is within walking distance. It’s a family hotel and the noise of the guest was within reason and other than a jerk in a truck doing spin outs at the light it was easy to sleep.

Our 2 night stay at the Thunderbird inn was very good! Love the retro feel and little details like complimentary hot popcorn, coffee, donuts and the RC Cola and moon pies!! Room was clean and spacious also not too far to walk to the main bars and restaurants!!

Very small room and very close to a bad section of the town. The staff that we dealt with were very friendly. The bathroom was very small and does not have a sink in it, the sink is in the bedroom.

My room was clean and cute but lacked ventilation. If you took a hot shower the floor would sweat. Floor gets dirty from walking around downtown Savannah on the streets. Dirty floors with the sweating made a dirty mess to clean up. I’m glad I brought paper towels to clean up the mess which was very annoying to be on vacation. They made us sign a waiver about damage to their towels. I just couldn’t feel comfortable if I had to worry about their towels getting dirty from street dirt. The vent in bathroom didn’t work plus water was getting on floor from poor shower curtain. Paint was peeling back on the wall from staying wet with water from shower and no ventilation. Pleas read about the TV. I didn’t snd was surprised to have no TV service. You have to go through steps to use you own streaming service from your smart phone. If you don’t have a smart phone with streaming your screwed. This sucked and was a deal breaker for me because after a long day walking I wanted to come back and relax and watch a little tv before bed. Make sure you read about daily parking fees Also dog enclosure to walk your pet is small with fake grass. My dogs didn’t like this as a place to go poop. There was no place close to take your dog to go poop. Had to go walk to park. This place is also a good walk from river street.
