Probably one of the nicest places I’ve stayed! So much history! Since they filmed two Tarzan movies and “The Creature from the Black Lagoon” it gives off a 1930’s Hollywood vibe!

A peaceful step back in time. The springs and river are clear to the bottom and refreshingly cool. (The Creature from the Black Lagoon, filmed there, plays on a TV in the lobby.) Forest trails are lush and filled with birdsong. (Watch out for the horseflies!) Rooms in the lodge are spacious, clean and the beds comfortable. Don’t expect luxurious. The staff members are warm and courteous. Look up at the lobby ceiling. Beautiful. Lovely stay.
