Bathroom was poor condition shower run hot then cold was not good at all
Generally you get what you pay for. This place was cheap and so were the rooms. The sink was tiny, the shower didn’t drain, and there was a musty smell in some rooms. For one night though it was tolerable and even quaint in a quirky way.
This is an old quaint place which was fine for us. Just staying a couple of nights to cruise Milford Sound. Checking is was easy. Rooms had plenty of space. Then things went south. Toilet wouldn’t flush very well. Shower was scalding hot one second and freezing the next. All could be overlooked. First night fine. Next morning mice in the bathroom and running down the hall. Checked out as soon as we got back from cruise. Front desk asked if we wanted a refund and we said yes. Then she stated sorry you’re to late checking out. Lesson learned. Steer clear.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Assisted me with canceling my reservations. The resort did appear as shown on Expedia. Very run down and not well maintained. We did not stay there.
We were disappointed in the small room for two people. There was no toaster (had to go use one in lounge down a hallway). No hot water available by late evening. No outside gardens.
Good hotel. Clean, quiet. Nice bathroom. Would recommend it.

If your looking for somewhere just to rest your head, then this place is fine.
Our room (#125) and surrounding areas need upgrading.
No couch, just two waiting room chairs (for a room sleeping 4)
Our TV only had a couple of grainy channels.
The shower was luke warm if that.
The wrinkled carpet in our room needs stretched.
Quite dated and room was very cramped for three people but it was clean

Clean hotel but needs renovation
Check in was easy and efficient. Car parking was easy. The entrance requires some work as the carpet was quite shabby. Our room was clean but in need of renovation. We did not eat here. A 10 minute walk to amenities within Te Anau.
No lift to get stuff up to our room. Stairs were falling apart. Room smelt like spilt beer. Fridge was right at our heads. No aircon, so had to open the window and use the fan but that let the biting bugs in. No onsite food
Our room was great. Clean and comfortable. And the staff were lovely. Edgar and his wife were interested in us and generous towards us. The hotel shows its age a bit, with signs of former facilities no longer in use, and carpets a bit torn. But dont let that put you off. If you choose to have breakfast, its excellent.
Clean, close to downtown - 20 minute walk, 5 minute drive. Parking onsite. Friendly staff.

Reception was welcoming and helpful. Property overall looks tired but room was comfortable. Sliding door didn't lock and shower needed a little more attention with cleanliness.
We had a great view of the
Mountains and were very comfortable in our room, and much was tiny but clean!

Clean and big rooms. But extremely run down. Carpets worn through. The place looks like it has had no maintenance done for years. Given the state of the place very over priced.
