First, I was billed much higher than price shown on the app. When we arrived, ( no other guests) we found our room uncleaned without sheets, etc. When we went to the office, nobody was there after waiting 10 min or so. We called the emergency number and the young man from desk came. It must have taken him 15 min to find us another room (remember, the place had nobody else there! ). He finally got us another room in which the tv would not turn on. Again, we went to the office. The young man came and turned on the tv with the switch and handed us the remote, ready to leave. We asked if it works now so we tried remote, which did not work. At that point, we requested a refund and he issued it. We went to another place nearby and got a much nicer room with hot tub and breakfast for HALF what they had charged us

Incredible views. Made a new friend.

Room was great overall. Fan in the bathroom needs to be replaced. Screen door also. TV could use an upgrade and better reception but didn’t spend a ton of time watching TV, didn’t really matter. No AC so not sure I would go during the summer. But that’s me, I need AC.

We had a nice stay at the Cliff Dweller. The view from the room was amazing. Listening to the water was so relaxing. It was easy to find, easy parking, and many shops around. Everything you would need is right in the area, gas, grocery, and gift shops.

The great thing was the balcony over the lakeshore. Check-in was easy and rooms were clean. We were on the 2nd floor - those external mesh wire stairs were awful and the external walkway upstairs had a number of floor height changes. We had two rooms, late October and those rooms were COLD at arrival. Room temp was about 50 to 55 at arrival in one room and patio door was open more than a foot in the other so colder.. Neither thermostat actually worked and if turned up past 80, the room would get warmer. They had portable space heaters in the rooms but that seems a bit like a fire hazard. One room had not enough outlets and had a power strip to string things together on. One room had a balcony door that would not lock. One room had very outdated furniture. This was not a good physical experience and a traveling companion said that the thermostat / electrical outlets just left her feeling unsafe. Did we tell anyone? Tried to, there was no one available at checkout but you could call to find someone. That works if you have a cell signal which I did not. Would we stay again? No but man we loved the balcony views.

We had a 2nd floor room and the view was wonderful. We heard the waves crashing against the rocks all night, helped us sleep. Guests were friendly. Staff was great also. Quiet rooms, barely heard the traffic. Be preoared to disconnect from your phone & wi fi as it barely connected. Enjoy a getaway!

An upgrade on the balcony seating would be nice. The bathroom fans are very loud. It was overall a good place to be for a long weekend.

The rooms were clean and spacious. The view was great but I'm sure the view was better from the second floor, less obscured by trees. The sound of the waves was refreshing and calming. You could hear kids running and jumping in room above, luckily only during the day. The front desk staff was curteous but only available by calling. The cleaning staff spoke little to no English and made it interesting when the quarter roll of toilet paper ran out and needed to request more as the front desk staff wasn't around and spare rolls weren't left in the rooms. The rooms get very warm in the night and fortunately our neighbors weren't an issue with having to keep deck door open for air movement. Overall a very nice place to stay and would recommend to others.

Have noticed a couple of updates - adds a special touch to an already great stay! We live spending our girls weekend here - a great place to come back to and take a soak in the tub and relax in the comfortable bed! Also looks and smells clean! Friendly staff - from check-in to check-out! And we did see a young bear running away from the property on our last night - very exciting!

Serenity of the sound of Lake Superior when sitting on your private deck. The walls of the room are thin so you can hear your neighbors but overall a very nice place to stay. Staff was great!!

Room clean, just dated. Bedding and towels were very nice and clean . Bed not what I’d call super comfy, just ok. View of Lake Superior amazing from our room,(and that was my entire reason for booking ), but could tell some rooms would have obstructed views— trees. Not a concern for us, but should note No A/C. Two fans provided. Desk staff friendly. Would stay again

Let me first start by saying the area itself is beautiful, and the views are beautiful from the hotel, but that’s about where it ends. We stayed there for the Superior Fall Trail Rqce, and do not stay there if you are planning on running or unless you like to never leave the room after hours. Why? Well, they give you two key cards, that will get you in to your room. After that, the fun begin begins and neither key card will work and there is no staff after hours to help you even though they give an emergency number you cannot reach them. My partner and I and our 11-year-old stayed there and my partner and her 11-year-old had to sleep in the car for four hours after we left early in the morning for the race. She called the emergency number, but no one answered, the lobby is closed and no one is around. Completely unsafe because just imagine what would’ve happened if you left the baby in the room to run to the snack machine, which is outside and you couldn’t get back into the room and you couldn’t reach anyone to help you. Well, I contacted Expedia and they could not help, and they could not reach the hotel, and I contacted the hotel twice and they will not respond, this is completely unacceptable from both Expedia and the hotel. The fact that you get locked out of your room is unbelievable and is extremely unsafe. I will also be contacting the local Better Business Bureau there along with the trail race Director because this place should not be even an option.

The location is fabulous . The room is small and the carpet needed cleaning. Food service offering in the morning is not worth using. Packaged oatmeal but no milk to put in it. Pre packaged muffins hard to understand in an area known for its baked goods. The balcony was great
