Noisy hotel with unhelpful staff.

Without doubt the worst hotel experience I've had in 15 years of travelling for either business or pleasure. The room was at street level at the front. So noisy, which I know the hotel can't be responsible for, without having better windows. The reception was effectively above the room and people were walking through with cases up until after midnight, and form 4am, the ceiling sounded like it was going to come through at numerous points in the night. You can hear every door in the hotel shut, throughout the evening and morning. I asked if I could cancel my second night after an hour of checking in one night one, and got told it was non-refundable and I had no other options, the hotel was full. With a semi-patronising smile. I would urge anyone staying in Edinburgh not to stay here, it's terrible. The room was also dark, and for £270 a night I had water and A chocolate bar in the fridge - great value. On checking out the lady asked how was my stay, when I told her about it, she said 'Sorry to hear that' with no hint of any resolution. what's the point in asking?

Room was tired and needed some maintenance, simple things, wobbly coffee table, loose toilet seat etc. room was otherwise very nice. All the staff were polite and very helpful. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. They do not provide evening meals but plenty of choice locally. The only downside is a rumbling noise from passing trams which was slightly annoying. Otherwise, we enjoyed a lovely stay.

We used this hotel as our home base, coming and going for three different stays during a two week period when we were not on a Rabbie’s Tour out and about in Scotland. Its location was superb for our purposes, daily breakfast choices were excellent, and staff was quite helpful. The three rooms were consistently terrific: clean, spacious, bright and cheerful, and comfortable.

This hotel was our home base for two weeks as we checked in/checked out three times to stay between our multi-day Rabbie’s Tours of various areas in Scotland. It was super close to where we were to start and end each tour (right around the corner), served excellent breakfasts with multiple options, and was a relaxing, comfortable hotel with helpful, friendly staff. We will definitely stay here again if in the area. Superb!

Great hotel in a great central location

Hotel Indigo is a 10 minute walk from Waverley Station. The staff were very accomodating. The hotel has a cosy bar, serving good local whisky. The beakfast was very good. The hotel is situated in a perfect location for the theatre and shops. The Connan Doyle pub is 50 yards away and serves good food and cask ales.

The hotel staff were very attentive and friendly and let us check in earlier than advertised, after we asked if we could check in our bags. The included breakfast was top notch, with many different choices and cooked to order hot options! The room was clean, shower, bathroom and bed were good. We were given complementary items in our mini fridge which was a nice touch. Unfortunately the towel rail in the bathroom was on all the time which we thought was unnecessary. Some of the fixtures were loose and around one socket, there was sellotape holding the wallpaper together. The TV while a good size was very slow and unresponsive. I'm a bit disappointed based on the cost of the room.

Great little hotel

Lovely hotel with really friendly staff. Every member of staff we came into contact with was really welcoming and helpful. This hotel is a 2 minute walk from Picardy tram stop and a short walk to Princes Street and the Royal Mile. Also very close to the theatre and Edinburgh Street Food. So perfectly situated for us. The good sized room was clean, the bed super comfy and had the most fabulous shower. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back.
