Disappointed with our stay. While the hotel was clean and the beds comfortable, the staff and service left much to be desired. We booked five rooms for a youth hockey tournament. Check-in was frustrating, staff was unwelcoming, and although we arrived at 1pm, we were told rooms wouldn’t be ready until 4pm. We were eventually allowed to check in early, but only after paying a fee. Rooms were fine, though missing linens for the pullout couch (quickly resolved by housekeeping). The worst part was the “bistro.” We chose this hotel partly for the on-site dining, but when we arrived at 7:30am, it was closed, despite being told it would be open from 7–10. Worse, the assistant GM, Brian Smith, rudely informed us we couldn’t even sit in the common area due to a private reservation. As a 6U hockey coach and team manager who will be traveling to the area frequently over the next decade, I can confidently say I won’t be staying at this Sonesta Select again thanks to Brian.

The hotel was convenient and reasonably priced. It inexplicably has a $5 parking fee which isn’t typical for suburban hotels but is disclosed on Expedia so it is what it is. The staff was polite and efficient and everything was pretty much what you expect for the pricepoint. The only real issue we had was that the room smelled like mildew even with the fan on the ac unit running continuously. It wasn’t bad enough to ask for another room given that we were just sleeping and heading out but if we were staying longer we would have. There were also some rowdy guests making noise after midnight but the management was on top of that from what we could tell—handling it quickly and adding some signage about expectations.

Nice hotel with easy access. I wish hotels would start providing housekeeping daily without requesting it. We stayed for 3 nights and didn’t have our room done once. It is a good hotel and I would stay here again.
