We’ve stayed here 5 times before and have always really enjoyed it. This time very disappointing- we had a gold room and it was the worse we’ve had. Last night the fire alarm went off at 1.30am and hundreds of people needed to be evacuated. Whilst the hotel can’t be held to blame for alarms going off (unless they were faulty which I don’t know) not a single member of staff actually told anyone what was going on. We all seemed to wander down the road rudderless and found our way into a hotel lobby which we stayed for about an hour. It was someone from that hotel that told us it was a false alarm.
Clueless staff it seems and lack of training. Shame but after that and the disappointment of the room the Cumberland has lost a customer.

Great value for money and very comfortable beds, perfect location for what we needed. Huge hotel though and not for a romantic or couple night away. Breakfast was on mass, big queues to get in, did what was needed but not the best. Coffee terrible.
We had a decent stay I’ve stayed here before when it was hard rock, I must say I preferred it when it was hard rock. We had an issue with an alarm that detects gas fumes keep going off and had to move rooms at 1am in the morning. We were offered a free night stay and the hotel said that it was going to email details of how to book, but we are yet to receive this email.
Other all not bad, but also not great.
