This hotel had great friendly service...location was awesome, just steps from the Underground. Tons of restaurant options, a Tesco mni market and Boots pharmacy close too. Beds were comfy, room size generous and the scent of the bath products heavenly. The extra deep tub/shower was a little difficult to get in and out, and water pressure was just ok. Breakfast buffet had great options (would it kill you for pancakes or waffles once in a while?) With lots of international options too. I'd absolutely love to stay here again.

Hit or miss

The rooms are hit or miss. This time it was a miss. I stay here for the location - a minute from the Gloucester Road tube stop, which has 3 subway lines (one of them direct to Heathrow airport) supermarkets, plenty of places to eat - all within within minutes. The room is was assigned (239) was not at a 4-star hotel level. Just getting off the elevator, the hallway smelled of mildew. The security chain on the door didn't work. There are no light switches or outlets to charge your devices near the bed. The furnishings look old and dated. The full-length mirror is in a barely-lit cubbyhole where the closet is. The view was non-existent. For a guest staying one night, it probably wouldn't matter. Even doing the online check-in prior to my arrival (which did not save any time at check-in) did not help secure a decent room for a repeat customer. This room needs some updates.

Experience

It was very great! We had great service from Hiruchi when we first got there and she also gave us an upgrade which was very nice of her. The only thing I did not like was that last night I ordered water. They took a lot of time to bring it and I fell asleep when I woke up however the water was in the room, I believe that is not so acceptable for anyone to enter room while me and my partner are asleep.

This property is a perfect stay for London. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good size rooms, with outside noise reduction. Perfect location , with great access to all areas of central London. Gloucester Road tube station right outside. I would highly recommend.

Comfortable but could do better

This is a nice hotel, and the beds are amazing. But really, instant coffee in the room is for me no longer acceptable. Even in the Travelodge I stayed in earlier in the week, there was a Lava,zo machine. And closing the hotel bar at 22.30, whereas the place was buzzing - what is that all about? I had expected better.
