Good location, poor staff experience

Good location for an overnight in London, 3 min walk to Knightsbridge tube and Harrods. It’s getting a little tired around the edges but given the location it fine. However, the check in staff need some customer service training. Had to wait 10 min to check in but no apology for the wait. Our room had no bedside light on one side because the cables had been ripped out of the plug and the plug removed. Didn’t discover until gone midnight, but reported it when we checked out. Check out staff then criticised us for not reporting it earlier and made us in the wrong for not calling maintenance. Seriously??? Eventually got a begrudging apology muttered under her breath. Who’s paying who here?

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the lounge area. The hotel is located walkable distance to dining and shopping.

Staff was first rate, very polite and professional. The rooms are a bit tired. Room was clean but worn. Of the two I will always take clean. Sliding door on bathroom was peeling and cabinet doors had broken hinges. I informed the front desk when leaving and they apologized and thanked me for letting them know. Included breakfast was extensive with many hot and cold choices

Overall an excellent stay a couple of very minor issues …no shower gel in shower .. no biscuits with tea or coffee ..lack of iron &board that would have been helpful ….breakfast was plentiful with great selection .. Will definitely stay again good value

We have been staying at this hotel for over 15 years. On this occasion we left my husbands medication in the mini fridge and when we called just a couple of hours after check out to let them know and that we could come back to collect it we were told it was not there. This means it had not been saved as lost property by the housekeepers and had been discarded. In our opinion this is not good practise.

Little Details…

The Staff were great, the reception area, great.. But the room, dining room all looked a little tired, and little details, like standard light in room not working, coffee machine made Luke warm coffee at Breakfast.. which was a shame. It has a great location, but some of the finer details should be given a little attention..

Just Ok

After arriving our bags was taken to our room & double bed when twin was requested, tv wasn’t working & also the charging plug socket, so bed had to be changed to a twin & maintenance for the rest. Got room service for breakfast free of charge because of this & breakfast & coffee cold on arrival. Coffee from the bar downstairs excellent & comfortable places to sit. Asked to order a taxi from reception because I was travelling with my disabled son & was told to get one outside on the street. Pillows were flat & hard.
