The Good: The location is absolutely amazing with close access to the London Underground. Before we get to the bad, I want to thank the staff for accommodating us and going above and beyond. The Bad: The hotel in general needs a massive overhaul. This is not a 4-star hotel (see photos). I’ve traveled the world and stayed in some good and bad hotels. If you’re traveling as a family and booking a family room, read on. Family rooms have pullouts which are totally fine. However, the pullouts at this hotel are in a state of disrepair and need to be replaced. Our first room was so bad, we honestly couldn’t lay on the bed without it collapsing. Maintenance came to our room and told us to go downstairs and get a new room. Our new room, unfortunately, was bad as well — equally. The staff was accommodating and booked a second room for us (complimentary) because they had one available. Again, fantastic location but the hotel that needs a lot of love. That said, when not using the pullouts, and if you don’t mind a hotel that’s a bit rundown but in a great location, go for it.

The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The room was spacious and beautiful, Junior Suite. The only issue with the room was that the shower drain was slow and water would back up in the shower when in use. I alerted the staff, but it wasn’t fixed.

Originally booked a twin double but ended up with two singles which wasn’t a hardship. Mum and dad said the air conditioning outside their room kept them awake but I had no problems. Everything was clean, had a good breakfast and close to tube station.

Would stay again

Location is ideal for business in South Kensington, and great for tourists looking for home base. Three Tube stops nearby, Gloucester Road the closest. Walking to Royal Albert, Hyde Park, V&A, High Street Kensington. Hotel breakfast was ok - better warm options on request. Staff are super kind and helpful. Room was large, not common in the UK! Gym was small but plenty of equipment to get in a workout.

Only issue was they only had one set of towels and when I went down to ask for more they never brought them up and 45 minutes later I had to go down and ask a second time and then they gave them right to me. Wish they had just done that the first time!

Stay elsewhere if you're staying for longer

I stayed here for 1 night, my initial thoughts about the hotel (from just the lobby area) were, it looks nice and modern. How looks can be deceiving. When I got to my room, it just felt outdated. The carpet was worn down, the wallpaper was peeling and the air conditioning unit dripped on me twice. My room was also right next to the lift (Room 414) so it wasn't quiet and peaceful, the lady who checked me in also took a £50 security deposit which I dont know the purpose of that, seeing as I paid for my stay when I booked (about 6 weeks ago). The bathroom was extremely tight, with the shower cubicle being right next to the toilet. The shower floor was also peeling. Whilst the water pressure was nice, the shower handle felt extremely wobbly and i was a bit scared to use the shower just in case it fell off! There is just the one lift in this hotel, so be cautious there could be a long wait during busy times. There were a few good things about this hotel; the convenience of its location (3 mins from Gloucester Road tube station and about 10 mins from the V&A Museum), i had called a week before my stay and asked for early check in which I got and the bed was reasonably comfortable. I was hoping to want to stay here again during my next visit to London but this was a very disappointing experience and I feel as though this hotel lets down the Radisson Blu brand.

Some people would find this charming. I personally found it annoying for the awkwardness of signs and having to go around so many bends and fire doors to find your room. Not up to other radisson blus I have stayed in. Rooms are nice but the tromp not worth it! I heard others compare it to Winchester house.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and its a convenient location, so after about 7 years, decided to book it again. Booked a room for 3 people (sofa bed) and they did not have them available. So they put my teen daughter in a cozy single, which she loved. Two days into our reservation, they had our ENTIRE 3 room party playing musical chairs and switching rooms because of that mistake-- but they also had my reservation under my parents name? Which made NO SENSE, so every time I went to the desk they used my mothers name to address me, but it was a completely seperate booking than hers on a different website -- and if you're confused reading this, imagine how confusing it was for us. Rooms were fine, super outdated, the same as they were last time I was there. Breakfast was overpriced, no coffee available unless you're eating in the restaurant or want to make it yourself. It was fine. Great location, cannot be beat.
