front desk staff was great and very helpful with information, check in and luggage assistance. the room had strong odors, was in a "basement" with low ceilings and an inoperable window to the service alley. there was an unsafe lump in the flooring leading to the bathroom. The hair dryer malfunctioned. the heating system had an odor of sewer. There was a "spare" radiator provided which i now understand, because the heating did not work right. the bathroom was completely heated by towel heaters which did not work. it was pretty cold in there if the door had been shut, or even if it was left open. The wi-fi only worked if i left the room and went to a nearby space in the hallway. I even logged into the hotel wifi several times, forgot the network on my phone, etc. it just never had more than 1 bar. On my second day in the hotel, the cleaners made up the room. I was very happy to see this, but when I opened the refrigerator, it contained someone else's food - and it was fish. Totally unacceptable. How can they leave food in the guest's fridge during cleaning? Just gross, and also it seems to be a bit of a violation of privacy - the fridge wasnt a mini-bar. they had no need to open it, other than maybe to clean. I told the hotel of these issues, and they apologized but offered nothing.
If you stay here, note that the lobby is very nice, but the rooms are just OK. And, make sure that your room faces the street or you might also be stuffed in the basement.
