This is our second time staying at the Clermont Charing Cross and we had an excellent stay once again. We checked in early due to our room being ready which was so kind. As always the hotel was well presented and smelt lovely! It makes me so glad to be there! The staff were welcoming and helpful especially around the unfortunate lift breakdown that occurred during our stay. They covered this tricky situation well with kindness in a time that must have been stressful for the team. The room was exceptional as always with a wonderful bed space for my daughter overlooking the Thames with a view of the city. The complimentary mini bar is appreciated as always with top up offered during our stay. We had a lovely breakfast and lunch which was delicious both table service (lunch) and buffet style (breakfast). Thank you so much to the staff.

We really loved the location of this hotel! Just a few blocks from the Thames, the theater district, Covent Gardens, Trafalgar Square... plus the Charing Cross underground station is right underneath the hotel and the Embankment station is one block away. The property is very well maintained and feels "fancy." I know other reviewers mentioned homeless people in the area, but we found that to be the case all over Central London. They are not aggressive or scary - mostly just sleeping. I never felt unsafe. There were multiple staff in the lobby at all times, and a doorman at the locked entry after dark. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate in the dining room our first night and were very impressed with our meals. I highly recommend the sole! I would totally go back to this hotel again.

The hotel had a lot of charm and was well maintained. The room was very comfortable, although we had problems with our thermostat daily. We enjoyed the breakfast that was offered however I would not recommend it for a stay longer than a couple of days as the price is high for those converting to pounds The cost for two individuals was C$88 which is very expensive. We stayed for 5 days. As a result of cost we felt obligated to eat a large breakfast every day. Several mornings I would prefer to just grab a quick bowl of cereal or a couple of pieces of toast but for that price we felt obligated to eat more. The service at the hotel ranged from good to very good. The front desk was friendly and welcoming. The rest of the hotel, including dining staff were good at best. They were respectful, but I would not consider them to be warm or overly friendly. Meeting at the restaurant five consistent days and the same person asked us every day if it was our first time eating there. The best part of this hotel was its location, which was exceptional. You could not find a more centralized location. It was close to everything, including transportation and all of the main sites we were able to walk virtually everywhere. Overall, I would still highly recommend the hotel. We were pleased with our stay and we would stay there again.

The first time we stayed here it was fantastic - we had a large King room in the “main” building. This time, we were in a very small room “over the bridge” that took two elevators to get to. The stairway to get there smelled horrible. The room was tiny, dated, and smelled musty.
