Nice welcome from staff. Booked room was big and clean. Noticed the noise from Euston Road more this time. Declined to pay a £27 optional service charge particularly as I returned to my room late pm to find there had been no cleaning undertaken. The cleaner turned up after 4pm to tidy the room which was too late. Not massive quibbles but if you want to be 5 star.

Modern, large room with everything you need for a super comfortable stay. They even had a pour over coffee filter and pot in the room which made me very happy and impressed! I’ve never seen that before. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Plenty of outlets including European outlets. Easy walking distance to Euston station where we were headed to next. Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay, incredibly dog friendly

We had a wonderful stay at The Standard. We particularly loved how dog friendly it was. Our room was a cosy room with no windows which may not suit everyone but was perfect for us because it meant it was pretty sound insulated which was ideal for our dog who doesn't like too many noises. They provided a dog bed, dog bowls as well as treats, all included in the cost of our room which was so lovely considering at other hotels we've stayed at the hotels charge us an additional cleaning fee but don't offer anything for our dog. We'll definitely be back to stay here if we need a place to stay in London. Highly recommend.

I do not usually provided reviews however this is at best an average hotel close to kings cross.... In my opinion... however make your own mind up if you choose to stay there It does not have anything like a five star feel to it It is a little tired and dated.. and in my view trying to be something it isn't I probably wouldn't have left a review but this hotel took an unauthorised 5% 'gratuity' that is not listed on expedia.. I received an email later describing as optional....

Really lovely large room. Rates were fairly high for this time of year, but felt like good value. Staff always friendly and helpful - same goes for the main restaurant. Would be amazing if there was at least a sauna / steam room. Only down side is there is almost always a wait at reception, frequently busy in a fairly tight space. Credit card was charged weeks after departure for incidentals, no invoice sent.

Wonderful spot

Just a wonderful hotel close to the train station which made it easy getting off the train from Paris. Incredible staff and the rooftop bar is one of the highlights of London. We loved our stay highly recommend it. The rooms and amenities were fabulous.
