La Quinta MIA

My room was damp. The bed felt very moist. There was hair on the bathroom area counter. The bottom of the curtain, over the a/c was moldy. Several people were hanging in the parking lot, smoking weed. My children and I woke up with bites on our legs and arms. My 3y old had what appeared to be a spider bite on her leg. Both of them have tiny bumps on their faces and arms from whatever detergent the hotel used.

Our room was for 1 night and when we checked in at 8pm, there were roaches everywhere and didn’t have another room to accommodate. Left and most likely won’t come back.

It’s what you expect for a La Quinta and at that price point. I only needed it for a layover so that I wouldn’t have to sleep at the airport. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The outside of the hotel is near a busy highway so there’s noise but it wasn’t enough to disturb my sleep. However, it’s also literally right next to a McDonald’s which was super useful! I would rent again under the same conditions - as an overnight stay for a layover. The staff are great and shuttle service is so incredibly helpful!

Our free shuttle from airport to hotel was convenient and a dollar saver for sure. I was a little disappointed that the pool area was closed off, I’m not sure why? The room was clean and bed comfortable. There was a Wendy’s and a McDonald’s right nextdoor so we could grab a quick bite to eat. Hotel also had a driver to take us to Port of Miami the next morning for $15 each.
