Do not book through Expedia as there are two properties with this name. There is a hotel side and the apartment side, which Expedia does not clearly indicate. I was disappointed because I thought I was booking the rooms with the artwork and nicely decorated. So disappointed with Expedia given the price. The staff at the hotel were wonderful. They were willing to help me change to the hotel side, but there wasn't availability. Their suggestion was to book directly with the Museum Hotel as they can clearly explain the two sides. Having said all that, it was still a nice stay. Three stars because of Expedia, not the actual hotel.

This was a unique hotel because every space available was covered in works of art. Our own apartment was comfortable and we loved the location as we could walk most places. The concierge desk was most efficient. The hotel interior was very dark and might not appeal to everyone.

The apartment was in average condition at best. The bed only had a sheet with no mattress topper and was extremely uncomfortable. We were forced to share a bed rather than individual beds. No amenities like shower caps etc provided. One towel each for 2 females. One bar of soap for a 2 night stay. One hand towel for a 2 night stay. It lived up to its name MUSEUM. For a 2 night stay at $920, it was dismal and we won’t be staying again. I expect much better out of QT.

Museum appointments are a wonderful place to stay in Auckland. The decor is fantastic and our room was spacious and comfortable. There are many dining experiences within easy walking distance

Stayed for 6 nights in a studio twin room. Reception staff were not very friendly. I had to return my keycard 3 times during my stay as it wasn't working. Housekeeping is not managed well. I only had housekeeping one morning during my stay. Floor in kitchen area was sticky on arrival. It was cleaned when I complained to reception. Bed was made but none of the bins were emptied. Floor not vacuumed. Wash cloths taken but not replaced. These issues were rectified after complaining to reception. Only 3 coathangers in wardrobe. Very poor lighting in room. Unable to read. Bed extremely soft. Close to New World supermarket which was fantastic. Enjoyed the art thruout the hotel. Walking distance to Oriental Bay,, Mt Victoria and CBD, Cable car etc.

This place is pretty swanky with great artwork all around. Parking is paid valet. Room amenities great except shower drain was poorly located and resulted in pooling of water. There were no hooks or anything to hang towels which was weird. Breakfast alacart on day, super delicious and buffet one day which was great. Excellent location for museum restaurants shopping etc

Nice room, poor service

We arrived about an hour early and were disappointed that the road signage was so poor that there was no reference to the Museum Hotel, the road signs were for the QT apartments. When we arrived there no concierge for the valet parking. While we waited for our room, others who arrived after us were able to access their rooms. It took 30 minutes after getting to our room for our bags to be dropped off. Our room was comfortable and big, the shower was nice, but there was no drinking water and there was an unknown fibre in the kitchen sink. The breakfast was terrible, items were cold, poor choice, and service was poor. We were not offered a cafe coffee, the plates were awkwardly placed under the serving area.

Good location for Vivienne Westwood exhibition

Clean, quiet and convenient location for exhibitions. Room was a bit stuffy and smelly from cooking smells from previous guests. We found this most unpleasant as deodoriser should have been sprayed. It lingered for the 3 nights we stayed. Bed was comfortable. Bulbs in lamps needed replaced. Housekeeping should check this when rooms are vacated

The place was walking distance to everywhere. The foyer of hotel was amazing, the art work and ambience was very unique! We stayed in the apartment section of hotel, our room was large and stylish but had a few issues. The aircon was extremely noisy even when the fan was on low, the bed wasn’t super comfy and the water from shower went under the door flooding the bathroom.

Gorgeous hotel, like a museum

Gorgeous hotel!! Beautiful art work hanging all around in lobby! You feel like you are in a museum!! Rooms are very nice! Lovely decor and apartment style had washer and kitchenette.Great location. Walked everywhere, boardwalk, botanical gardens and playhouse. Great trip!!
