We absolutely loved our stay at James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor in Wellington. It is walking distance to everything you may need in the CBD. Staff go above and beyond to help you, the rooms are spacious, clean and the breakfast buffet is delicious. Would highly recommend staying here.

Always a pleasure to stay here, from the superb front desk staff to the excellent food and immaculate cleanliness. Staff, without exception, are friendly and attentive. When planning a Wellington stay, this is my number one choice of hotel.

We love James Cook, however this trip we seem to have got an older room. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom, and the noise from the road and hallways in particular were more than what we would have expected. The staff were very friendly. Next time I would he making sure we got a better room. Location is perfect for direct access to Lambton Quay. Easy walk to waterfront etc.

Breakfast buffet was great. Beds were comfortable, room was lovely and clean. Reception team have a very casual phone etiquette. Could use improvement. Other than that, thank you.
