Lovely, helpful and kind staff. Room was a little outdated but very clean and comfortable and fine for 2 adults. In walking distance to train station, great food and sight. The hotel is in the red light district, this didn’t bother us as we are early risers and early to bed, but single travellers may want to keep this in mind. (I was approached whilst smoking a ciggerette by someone thinking I was working). Bathtub, amenities and less than a minutes walk to laundromat and convenience stores, was a bonus. I will stay here again when I return.

A dated hotel in a convenient location

The Villa Fontaine is in an excellent area and the front desk staff is wonderful. The rooms (despite an alleged update in 2022) feel very old and the beds are quite firm. The bathroom is nice but the kitschy wallpaper and neon signs is a bit… odd. It’s a weird place with some unique character and you’d be hard pressed to beat the location. Don’t expect to be blown away by this hotel but it gets the job done.

2025 Tokyo Marathon

Hotel was great. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was big enough for two of us. Would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in the Tokyo area. Defined a nice place to stay if running the Tokyo Marathon. Easy walk to start line and close to public transport stations for after the race.

I stayed at Villa Fontaine Hotel in Shinjuku for 20 nights with 2 adults in a queen bed room. Check-in was at 3:00 PM, and check-out at 11:00 AM. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the train station and subway, and just 5 minutes to the heart of Shinjuku with plenty of food and things to do. The staff were incredibly friendly, and their English was great. They even held our bags before check-in. The hotel is simple but clean, and every 3 days they did a deeper clean with new bedding, while fresh towels and water were provided daily unless you put up a "Do Not Disturb" sign. The room was spacious enough that it didn’t feel claustrophobic, and we could easily open all three of our suitcases. Amenities included pajamas, toothbrushes, razors, face cleansers, moisturizers, green tea, and coffee. After I requested English breakfast tea, they provided a fantastic selection after over a week. While the hotel is near busy Shinjuku, it wasn’t too noisy. If you’re out exploring, you’ll likely be too tired to notice. For 20 days, it felt like home, and we’d definitely stay again. A big thank you to the staff! Note: There’s no washing machine or tumble dryer, but a public laundromat is just a 2-minute walk away. It was easy to use, and the price was reasonable. We didn't have a need for parking or dining options so I don't know about those.

The location was right in the heart of everything but noise was never a factor. Front desk was thorough and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
