The bar lobby has a strong smell of cigarettes. The receptionist explained it must be on people’s clothing. It became stronger as the afternoon/evening went on. It was difficult to be in the room.

Two Thumbs Up!! Must see even if you don’t stay!

Loved staying here! What a gem in the middle, of the middle of nowhere! This place is more opulent than the historic hotel we stayed at in Estes, CO. Oh to be alive in its day! We loved sitting in the lounge relaxing with a glass of wine watching the guests arrive. We explored each floor; all of the furniture is relevant to the 1907 era. And everyone in the town is so polite! Would definitely stay here again!!

Are you the kind of person who preferred the Tower of Terror over Guardians of the Galaxy experience in Disney? Well then, this hotel is for you. Imagine antique furniture that feels like it could tell stories, artwork that seems to follow you, and a lobby/bar that rivals that of The Overlook Hotel. If you want to feel like you are in another time (where whiskey was the preferred treatment for a headache and a six shooter on your hip was welcomed) book a room now just, make sure you don’t bring back any extra spirits in your luggage.

The customer service has really gone downhill. We have stayed here in the past and have enjoyed it. This stay we found some of the staff to be incredibly rude. There were some friendly people, but the rude ones unfortunately ruined it for us. I wish I had people's names. The breakfast restaurant had no help. You have to order at the counter with an unfriendly hostess, then she delivers it on plastic plates with plastic forks, and you will never see her again. Coffee and water are self-serve. If you order and pay for anything else, you never get it. It's not cheap either, on the high price end for breakfast. They say they can't find staff but the other restaurants around town were all well-staffed with friendly people. The common areas were very dirty and had not seen a vacuum in some time. We were very disappointed with our stay.
