We stayed there for the regional high school volleyball tournament, it was our whole team, coaches, and the family members of the girls on the team. 10+ rooms booked. Overall, our experience was fine. Unfortunately, the staff wasn’t the best. The kitchen staff didn’t speak English, so when a celiac member of our group asked to see the labels for some of the breakfast options, the language barrier made it difficult. Also, while the girls were waiting for their championship game, they went into the extremely large public space portion of the lobby and did a Zumba routine to get themselves psyched up and motivated. Along with the music (which was totally appropriate), the screams of the kids in the pool could be heard throughout the building. I was on the third floor facing the lobby and could see and hear all of it. It did not bother me in the least as it was 10:00am (I actually opened my window to listen more), but I guess the management couldn’t handle it and asked the team to stop and that they couldn’t do that anymore. The team stopped and lunch was brought in. The girls ate in their rooms out of fear of getting in trouble for being in the common spaces. That’s unfortunate that the staff couldn’t wait out the “noise” for 30 minutes.
There will be another tournament next year and I fear they’ve just lost customers for at least 15 rooms.
