Open floor plan, unique, Mongolian style lodging located on the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway. Within a forty minutes (or less) drive you can be: in the Sunlight Basin, on the Beartooth Plateau, in Cooke City, MT, at the North-East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park, and at Pilot/Index peaks. Cody, WY (south-east of The Yurt) and Red Lodge, MT (north-east of The Yurt) are both approximately an hours drive.

The areas surrounding The Yurt are known for their breathtaking views and wide range of activities. Hundreds of hiking trails allow both beginner and more advanced hikers to explore this beautiful landscape. World-class trout fishing, canoeing, kayaking, excellent opportunities for photographs and photographers, bird-watching, and an abundance of wildlife viewing are all activities available in the Beartooth-Absaroka Wilderness.
