Book Independent Helensvale accommodation from NZ$185

Walked into the lobby looked great quick check-in, up the lift new clean into the hallway freshly painted new carpet but I am sure a bomb meant for Iran missed its target an hit this room, old grotty furniture paint peeling off the walls shower head broken it was cheap and only 2 nights so we put up with it as they say you get what you pay for as a very frequent traveler never Mantra again as for Hotels take it off your site!!

I had reservation and they said we cant find it!!! they left us waiting half an hour on arrival after getting wet under rain( entrance door was locked). For room service they charge delivery fee !( 8 dollars) . found cockroach ( have a video) .They charged us with higher rates than reservation confirmation!

The room was great, except there was a very strong cold cigarette smell

Room smelled like cigarettes when we checked in. It was so strong and honestly made you want to throw up. We called the front desk as we could barely breathe in the room. They came up and confirmed how bad it was but sad they didn’t have another room to move us to. There wasn’t even a window in the room to air it out so we had to stay in the room coughing on the smell of cigarette all night. Honestly makes me question how much attention they give to housekeeping if someone “cleaned” that room after the last guest and thought it would be ok to allocate another guest to.
