I had organized a weekend away in lieu of my partners birthday. The hotel looks wonderful, guest services when we checked in were extremely helpful. The room was neat and organized and with all the amenities that were stated on our booking. The chrome cast wouldn’t connect due to poor internet connection, so that was disappointing. There was mould all over the shower and I have photos. I mentioned it to reception and the response I got was, we’ll note that. I was very disappointed with her lack of acknowledgement. We parked our car in the carpark next door and on check out we weren’t given proper instructions after paying for the parking . Unfortunately we weren’t given two validated cards to exit the carpark and therefore needed to call security for help. My partner managed to go back to reception to notify them of the issue and they just said, oops we forgot to give you two cards to exit the carpark. Disappointing end to a lovely birthday weekend.

Our room smelt musty on arrival to the motel like it had been locked up for a month. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work so the whole bathroom got wet when the shower was used. The bath shower was also extremely small and could be an issue for larger people.

Had to ask for the simplest of things that would normally be found in most good hotels like, toothbrush, water, laundry service. The room that I was in had no where to hang anything except a very tiny closet. Even the bathroom did not have any place to hang used/unused clothing. When I asked for bottled water they said the tap water was ok for drinking. Asked repeated for laundry service but it was never given. I chose this hotel because it was highly rated by Expedia and I was totally disappointed. Will NEVER return to Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne again.

The room was very tidy and comfortable. Bed was very good, shower was great. The only thing I didn't like was the sensor light in the bathroom - not great for a person like me who goes several times to the toilet during the night. Will be staying here again later in the year. One other thing - at the restaurant in the morning, it would be a good idea to provide Weet-Bix as a cereal option as this is the best cereal for diabetics (like my friend and I).

I love old hotels, their charm, their character, their history. Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne was amazing. They've preserved the internal old staircase and it is like walking back in time. The rooms are all refurbished with very comfy beds. You can walk along the Yarra River and take the tram down to the beach easily. I would stay here again.
