Beautiful hotel and location. But was overcharged by around 200 aud. Needed to make a long distance call to talk to the manager. It took about a week before the overcharged was returned to my credit card. Checked in 4 am (paid the day before) we waited a long time until the front desk came out from the room. About an hour. Excellent rooms and location.

Good stuff:Nice cozy room. Updated bathrooms. Comfy beds. Great view. Easy check in. Easy checkout. Friendly staff at front desk. Not so good stuff: Across from our room was an area where staff were coming in and out of (that’s not the issue) but some of them were really loud, on the phone and yelling and we felt quite uncomfortable coming in and out. Put a bit of a dampener on our stay which we had been looking forward to for a long time.

I dont expect to have to do my own check in and check out at a 5 star hotel, I'm not shopping at Coles!! However the worse was no hot water (freezing cold not even lukewarm) at 7.00 am on the Sunday morning (there was hot water the previous morning) Surely a hotel has enough water for all guest on a Sunday morning. I checked again at 8.00 am and still cold so I had no choice. I visit Melbourne every year and this is the first hotel that I have every left a bad review on.
