The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the hotel turned the a/c off at night because Miami was having record low temps but my room was on the 5th floor. It was a sauna as soon as you stepped off the elevator. I was sweating all night and couldn’t control it. The hotel definitely has a smell like it’s hiding mold. I left my stay a night early because 2 nights there was enough for me.

there were unexpected charges at check-in. it was less than $5 but should've been listed in the booking. Additionally, how are there additional charges for "room safe and security" that are charged at check-in, shouldn't that be included as part of the room cost? Additionally, there was overwhelming smell of mold in the room.

The staff at check in was rude. The room was cold and when I complained about my heat I was informed there is no heat ( it was 46 degrees at the time) the water pressure was low in the shower and the water was luke warm at best. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.

We made a reservation with hotels.com at the Clarion MIA airport on Sunday evening 1Feb because it said airport shuttle. The rate charged was $198.70. We called the hotel multiple times to get the shuttle and no one answered. I called reservations who called someone else who called us back. It was freezing outside and we had already waited 20 minutes to get the shuttle and the person who returned my call said the shuttle would be there by 1140pm. No shuttle arrived. Another couple also called and we were eventually picked up around midnight. By this time we were all popsicles. We get to the hotel and the staff were very friendly and the room was clean but there was no heat in the room or the hotel. When my husband went downstairs to ask for a room where the heat was working we were advised the hotel does not have heat at all! We slept with our clothes and jackets because the bedding was also insufficient. Just for grins I checked the rate for the next day and it was $82.00 which is reasonable considering no heat. I would like to get a credit for the difference of $198.80 and $82 plus the taxes. $198.80 would be considered as price gouging since there was no heat we should have just spent the night at the MIA airport.

The stay was very disappointing. The carpet was dirty and the room appeared outdated and not renovated. Cleanliness did not meet basic standards, which made the stay uncomfortable.
