The place is nice, but the elevators need to be cleaned better, humid and smell

Beautiful property located in central Fort Lauderdale

Our room view was great. But our room was not taken care of properly. I didn't like the sound of the air conditioner, or the temperature control. We had to request toilet paper after 2 days, we also didn't have a trash can for 2 days and had to find a housekeeper to get one, and we had a problem with ordering food service because the phone didn't work 1 day. Beside these, we also ran out of shower soap the last 3 days, so we used ours and had to request water and sugar for our coffee. Additioally, we didn't like the way the pool water looked at times. It seemed to be cloudy to me. Staff was great though.

The staff was always very friendly and the rooms were clean. However it felt like whole the rooms were updated they could use some work. Peeling paint on window seals, minor things like that. For me, the outdoor was more of the issue.

The pictures that are posted of the rooms are not what you get. We thought we booked a king with partial ocean view but was told it was just a king room. The window that it did have in it looked onto some other rooms balcony but you’re looking at a wall. We were shown other rooms to pay more to get an ocean view but you can barely see the ocean in all the rooms they showed us. The people in front of us checking in were complaining about their room and right before we told them we were not staying there the customer that were checking in after us were also complaining about their room. Very misleading website pictures. I am always very thorough about researching before we book a room. This is the first time I’ve been cheated. The outside of the building were the pool is poorly maintained and they did nothing with the seaweed which smelled awful. We were told you get used to the smell, I don’t know how they got a 8.4 rating. This hotel needs to be in the 6 ratings.

The pool and spa were very nice amenities. Room was pretty clean and cold for good sleep. The staff were friendly and offered details about marriot amenities. The breakfast buffet was yummy!
