Staff isn’t that friendly. What’s the point of having front desk receptionist if we still have to check in/out ourself. My husband and I came to check in on night while the two receptionist stand there and didn’t even greet us and check us in (I get it if there wasn’t any receptionist and it’s convenient us guest to check in ourself, but there were two just there minding their own business. They could have stopped what they were doing on the computer and help us). While my husband was checking in; other guests looked like he needed help cause he was first using the check-in screen then he switched to his phone. One of the receptionist asked if he was okay and the guests said it’s easier to use my phone. The two receptionist side eye each other and said something in Japanese and giggles. Whatever they say it’s still rude to do it in front of guest who clearly needed help.
Receptionist horrible customer service. We stayed there for 6 days and never once did they greet us in and out or the other people. But their house cleaner were absolutely friendly. They speak better English than the front desk people. And would greet us whenever we passed by them.
Let talk about the room. This hotel was one of the expensive hotels we booked out of our Japan trip. We stayed in GINZA, Kyoto, Mishima, and here. This hotel is by far the worst hotel we stayed in our Japan trip. The room is damp ALL THE TIME. The bed feels damp. Our chips we left open overnight get damp.
