The Best Western Plus Marina Shores Hotel is a good choice for a Dana Point stay. I’d rate it average to good—nothing flashy, but it gets the job done. The staff are genuinely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The location is a big plus, just a short walk to the beach. Rooms are comfortable, though they could use a bit of updating. Overall, a reliable spot for a convenient and pleasant visit!

This is not a fancy hotel but it is well operated and well cared for so a good option for the price

We almost left the second day. This property has so much potential, but an obvious lack of basic upkeep has you feeling like you're in a fleabag hotel with a partial view (from some rooms) The furniture and decor was old and worn and full housekeeping is "by request" They desperately need to overhaul this property and bring it up to the level of the location. If dark and dingy is the theme you're going for, this hotel is for you. On the upside, the location is very central, including the marina, and many food options are walkable. The bed was comfortable too.

The room stunk so bad. I couldn’t sleep. I have a horrible headache and Im exhausted. When a room smells so bad you can’t sleep, What a waste. This is a very old hotel, no. bells and whistles, which is completely fine. But the smell was so bad Its in my clothes. The staff was like, oh ,let me give you free parking. Well sheesh. Thanks for the peutrid smelling of room and the headache from hell because it.

The staff were very nice & polite. The property lists that it has an outdoor area for pets. I have two service dogs & the area was nothing more than a flowerbed area full of rocks along the public sidewalk. I stated when I called that I needed a room big enough to maneuver a wheelchair around. I could get in the room but could NOT freely move through it in my wheelchair. The beds were so high I almost couldn't get into them, & I'm 5'8!
