We stayed at this hotel in mid-December and, despite a pleasant arrival, the experience quickly went downhill.
Several nights into our stay, we were awakened early in the morning by extremely loud drilling. When I complained to the front desk, I received no apology and was simply told that the hotel shares the building with private residences and had no control over the construction. We were promised it would not happen again. That promise was false.
The drilling continued the next morning and went on all day. Only after multiple complaints did management move us to another room away from the residential area, and only then did we receive an apology.
At over $800 per night, this level of disruption is unacceptable. A five-star hotel should guarantee peace, quiet, and basic comfort. Instead, we were woken up early, unable to stay in our room during the day, and left to deal with a problem the hotel clearly cannot manage.
After repeated complaints, the hotel offered to comp a buffet dinner, which was an inadequate response to multiple days of lost sleep.
Yes, the property is attractive and the location is convenient. None of that matters if you cannot sleep or relax in your room. The hotel’s shared-building arrangement with private residences is a serious issue, and guests are the ones paying the price.
If you stay here, do not choose a fountain or city view. Insist on a room far away from the residential units. Most importantly, do not expect issues to be resolved fairly
