Probably the best place to stay for all year, easy access to the valley. I booked my trip expecting some potentially snowy weather although it wasn't an issue for me, the forecast shifted in my favor. Yosemite view would have provided the easiest and shortest drive in to the valley from anywhere outside the park - 25 minutes of what can only be called a "destination drive" to the valley and all the parks villages campgrounds and eateries. The drive itself is so beautiful and care free it's actually a strong argument to stay just outside the park. Although dated, the lodge has a humble charm that I rather enjoyed. The hot tubs were functional in December, it was still sixty plus degrees and sunny. The room was clean enough and provided a kitchenette. There is a convenient store with a gift shop. If you forgot any miscellaneous items or have any last minute trail needs it's handy. The convenience store was stocked well enough - frozen breakfast burritos, pizzas energy drinks, pretty decent alcoholic beverage selections as well. Both the pizza place an restaurant were good, pricing was on par with attraction oriented dining. If you are looking for a dinner place in the park that's very romantic but a little pricier look into getting a reservation at the awahnee. Basecamp eatery at Yosemite Valley lodge also can be handy for last minute trail snacks or a place to sit inside if you need it and are already in the park. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Staff was courteous and room was clean but there were three things that could be improved upon. 1) Provide hair conditioner (this is standard at (most) hotels so I did not bring any). 2) The blinds and lightweight curtains were not sufficient to block the very bright lighting outside our door, making it difficult to sleep. Blackout curtains would be better. Also, the curtains were not properly hung. 3) This is a nit-pick but the clock on the microwave was not set back an hour for standard time. I woke up early and thought it was almost time to get up when it wasn't and the outdoor lighting made me think the sun was up. (I like my sleep. :) ) I set the clock to the correct time but it is a simple thing for housekeeping to take care of. One last little suggestion for a simple improvement (but I've had this issue at other hotels, as well) is to have a nightlight in the bathroom so that those of us that get up in the middle of the night don't need to turn on the full lights to find the toilet. I've made a note to myself to bring a nightlight with me when I travel. Thanks for listening. Beautiful location and overall good experience.

Clean rooms but outdated. They’re the “only game in town”, just outside the gate, so super convenient and good enough. They have lots of amenities- pool, dining and grocery store.

The room was spotless. Modern and spacious. The kitchenette had most of what we needed. Our bathroom was beautiful and clean. Slept great at night with the clean sheets and quiet rooms. The front desk were helpful and nice. What stood out about Yosemite View Lodge is the accessibility and variety. There was everything on site. We especially enjoyed the gym equipped with a variety of machines. The game room also had great games available for all ages. We were stunned by the number of pools and jacuzzi available. There are many options for hanging out like the fireplace and multiple swimhs, benches, and tables around with a lake view. The gift shop had nice items and the store was semi stocked with ready to eat food, snacks, grocery, and cold items. There are two restaurants on site. The pizza was good. Overall, this is a great option to stay at and would highly recommend.
