I would have given more stars, except the refrigerator didn’t function properly. My food spoiled the first night. Basically on the level of a Motel 6. Nice area. Much safer than Eureka.

Beautiful spacious room with a beautiful courtyard. Fortuna is a beautiful city, but direct surrounding area isn't the greatest. This could be due to the fact that I arrived relatively late. Overall, a great hotel with a very good breakfast.

So to start off I stayed there for 4 nights room 216. So I had an interesting first impression. I showed up around 9:30-10pm and was greeted with a rude attitude. The night guy was having a bad night or something. Once I got my keys for the room. I was greeted with a clean room. Now as I took showers the tub would clog up and all the dirty water would just sit in the tub and I’d have to tell the front desk constantly to snake it. Location was nice, besides hearing the car wash in the morning. The price was alright for the kind of service they give. One the first morning I asked to get a service for my room, clean sheets clean towels. The front desk guy said “no problem we will get it done”. So I come back later in the day and the room looked “cleaned” but soon to find out they just made the bed and left the same old sheets and blankets and called it a day. Which was not cool especially after the front desk guy told me it will get taken care of. Then the third night I asked for clean towels and sheets again, now from the same night guy from the first night. He states “I will bring them up to your room”. So I give him my room number. So time hits 11:00pm and I wanna go to bed. Wondering where he is, I go back to the front desk to find out he clocked out and there was a girl in his place. So I express my situation to her and the guy didn’t even past the message to her…..Now she gets me my sheets and towels right away. The bed sucked as well very uncomfortable and squeaky!

check in was easy and the staff very friendly. The room (king) was clean and big. Great place to eat 5 min walk with broad menu, best burger I've ever had in 65 years of eating lots of burgers, great chili with tri tip and a large selection of IPAs:The Eel River Brewery.

Loved the property and how cute it was. There was some general disrepair around the place though. The staff made up for it by being incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast wasn’t anything exceptional but it did the job. Appreciated it being pet friendly and its location. The whole area is beautiful as you are in redwood country.

While we had high hopes based upon reviews read, we experienced a hotel that’s utilized for prostitution services where at least two live onsite. Additionally, while it noted free breakfast from 7-9am, we couldn’t even get anyone to open the lobby, answer the phones or return our room keys and ended up leaving at 8am.

Staff was friendly. Rooms were pretty clean, but one of the two beds in our room was terrible! It was hard and uncomfortable, with a thin mattress pad. This was the main reason for the low review. The property was a mixed bag. There were beautiful murals in the hallways and a nice outdoor area on one side of the building. But the trash was overflowing in every can and a group loitered in the hall for hours and turned away others who wanted to do laundry (although this is isn't really the fault of the motel) .
