I didn't like how i paid for a certain room but they didn'thave that type of room because of remodeling and they didn't notify me and switched my room without letting me know so I didn't have time to see if I wanted to stay there or find a cheaper place. Then I spent about 15 to 20 minutes arguing with Expedia customer service telling me I didn't reserve the type of room i paid for. And I still don't know if the issue was resolved.

sad in Merced

usually Hampton Inn says quality right away. This did not have that. The location was obviously very dated, but the staff was pleasant and codial. The reception was extremely clean, but when I got to the room floor there was an offputting odor. the room did not have an odor and was clean, however no one ever came to change towels or freshen up during my stay (thus the 4 stars for eco friendly, code for no service) and there was very littly shampoo in the shower bottles. I had to run the water in the shower for at least 15 minutes before the water became tepid about 25 to get fully heated. if I had not booked through Hotels.com and prepaid there is no way I would have stayed here.

THE ONE VERY VERY VERY NEGATIVE ABOUT THE ROOM I HAD WAS THE DESIGN OF THE BATHROOM. THE SHOWER AND BATHROOM WAS A COMBINED AREA WITH A TILE FLOOR WITH A DRAIN HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR. THE WATER FROM THE SHOWER WET THE FLOOR ALL THE WAY TO THE STOOL. CREATING A HAZZARD FOR A PERSON TO FALL. STOOL AREA NEED A WALL TO SEPARATE FROM SHOWER.

Rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The overall cleanliness of the hotel itself was below average. Spiderwebs in the hallway. A little trash in the hallways. Ice machine was not working on our floor. Outside the building needed some attention. Lots of weeds and trash. We stay at a Hamptons everywhere we travel to and this location was below our expectations.

Toilet ran a lot...a/c hinky but loud...hot weather and the pool was closed. Staff were all very nice, but workmen that they sent to the room to fix the toilet didnt speak english so we couldnt communicate issues and didnt fix, just jiggled and said ok. Not ok.

I will never stay at this hotel again. The first night of check in I found a trail of ants coming from the ceiling by the door, at first we were told that there were no additional rooms and that the only thing that could be done was having maintenance come by and spray the room with chemicals and wipe the ants away, luckily we were able to be given a new room AFTER they sprayed the chemicals all over the room. The next day I was alone in the new room and a stranger was able to get into my room using a key card that was given to them by the front desk staff! This led to my key card being canceled and I was locked out of my room with all my belongings still inside and a stranger having access to my room. The managers excuse for the mix up was that the “system” for every Hampton hotel was down and they had 0 access to any information regarding check ins, check outs and guests that were currently there. The rooms were also disgusting.

Very poor landscaping, dirty in breakfast area. Check in was a challenge, telling me I might be charged 2xs because of two customers with same name. He could not verify my confirmation # bec it is expedia’s number. Makes me want to not use Expedia.
