We stayed here to be close to rhe sugar pine railroad. My husband kept asking me to stay somewhere else that's about ten minutes away, but I was so adamant, because narrow gauge inn is only five minutes away, driving.
It definitely feels like you're walking into a museum that hasn't been renovated or upkept very well. As much as I appreciate all the history that surround this inn, it did fill quite ran down. Nothing I would fret about if your whole purpose is to be close to the railroad only for 1 night, or you're trying to just hike for a day or something. But if you're spending a few days, you might want to consider staying somewhere else. There is a restaurant that will serve lunch and dinner, but no breakfast, so keep that in mind. Stuff is nice, no complaints there.
