The Charming Chalet at Sonenalp is a spacious, beautifully finished mountain retreat just steps from Canyon Lodge—offering the comfort, privacy, and design of a luxury home in one of Mammoth’s most desirable boutique buildings.

With nearly 1,850 sq ft on a single level, this three-bedroom condo features two king bedrooms plus a bunkroom, a wide open living and dining space, and thoughtful details throughout. Guests consistently describe it as “hugely spacious,” “impeccably clean,” and “even better than expected.”

Wonderful host

So the condo was wonderful. Walking distance from the Canyon Lodge. Well set up for 2 couples and 2 singles who love to ski. And my dog Riley. What made this place exceptional is that we arrived during the snowpocolypse (roads were closed, snowbands up to the 3rd story, power outages, etc) - and Marybeth went our her way to ensure we had the right apps to stay safe getting to Mammoth and then leaving again. I very much appreciated how much she cared.

Great property

Such a close walk to Canyon Lodge made it so convenient when not having to worry about parking. Plus having the garage saved our cars from getting buried in snow. Love this property. Definitely book it 👍🏼

Easily walkable to Canyon base area even with ski boots. Clean and spacious condo with good cooking, eating, living and sleeping spaces. Indoor parking was a huge benefit. Not near restaurants or groceries.

Great location, spacious, met all our needs!

Just a short walk to Canyon Lodge. Very spacious for our family of 4 (plus dog) - met our needs perfectly. Just one thing if I'm going to be nitpicky - humidifiers needed to be replaced. While they were a nice bonus, one was missing a crucial piece and the other was moldy :( I would definitely recommend!

Great (and snowy!) NYE Trip

We had a great stay in the condo for the holidays - walkable (a bit uphill but not too bad) to Canyon Lodge for skiing every day or taking the gondola to the Village. Note this unit is on the top floor so prepare to go up 2 flights of stairs when unloading all your gear and luggage! Mary Beth was very responsive to all of our requests and got someone on site within the day to resolve any minor issues that came up. Would recommend staying here for a family or group that wants to be close to the slopes and gondola!

Great Location for Mountain Biking

Once Mammoth re-opened, we (2-adults, 2 kids and 2 big dogs) headed up with our bikes. Great location, plenty of space to spread out and it was super clean. Every entrance to the complex has hand sanitizer and it guests wore masks in the common area.

The property is spacious and clean with enough room to spread out and be comfortable. Our in-laws came from Northern California and met us for a wonderful weekend of skiing, snowboarding, board games and hiking. Mary Beth was very responsive. We loved our weekend!

Amazing place, walk to Canyon Lodge

This spot is great - we had two families stay here (4 adults, 5 kids) and the large square footage provided plenty of room to spread out. The amenities were all top notch - kitchen is fully stocked, we used the gas BBQ multiple nights, the hot tub and sauna were definitely key after a day on the slopes. Would totally stay here again!

Nice, clean place with a great location

The condo was clean when we arrived and warm. It had plenty of space for all of our grand kids, dogs and 4 adults. The location was close to Canyon Lodge and the Gondola to go to the village. The hot tub was great after being up in the snow during the day and Mary Beth was very helpful. We would recommend this condo to friends and family

The “Charming Chalet” is a Gem in Mammoth

This is by far the best townhome/house we have rented in Mammoth. To our surprise, it was much larger than it appeared in the pictures. It was perfect for our family of 5 including 3 adults sons and in-laws. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. The kitchen was a chef’s pleasure, surprising how well stocked it was. We enjoyed great dinners and games at the oversized table. The sauna was also a hit after a long day skiing, snowshoeing and hiling. Everyone slept very comfortably and appreciated the cleanliness and all the toiletries. It truly felt like a « Four Seasons » treatment. Mary Beth is a wonderful host. We communicated via text. Her response time was very quick. We even shared pictures. It felt like a friend was inviting us to stay at her house. I can’t wait to return.
