we checked into the hotel they gave us a handicap room. We child so check in the last minute. Overall it was very nice hotel you hot tub was great we never ate it the restaurant because there's so many restaurants around the area with the location was awesome.

The lobby appears to be essentially brand new construction, and is generally beautiful. The room however, appears to be from an old and previously existing structure and is a steep drop off from the quality you assume based on the appearance of the lobby. The mattress was one of the worst I've slept on in a while.

We were placed in a room on the first floor, with the door facing the outdoors, so it was too much of a motel feel. Plus we were right next to the pool, which led to noise. But the worst part was that there was no barrier to the parking lot-- we had a homeless man wandering outside of our room right before bedtime. They need better security for guests on the first floor.

We have never traveled to Big Sur/Carmel By The Sea area before. I was hesitant to book at this hotel given that everything in the Carmel By The Sea area was a lot more than this nightly rate. This property also seemed to be far away from Carmel By The Sea. None of my fears were warranted. The location was absolutely perfect for getting around all areas that we wanted to travel on our trip. Carmel By The Sea was a quick and charming 6 minute drive. The hotel itself was very modern and clean, with a super cute lobby area with fireplace/books to read/games to play. The bar/restaurant was beautiful & cozy (with nightly happy hour), and there was an outdoor seating area to play corn hole, chat around a fire, etc. The room itself was really clean, had a fridge, bed was comfy, and the bathroom was modern/updated. We did not get to use the pool or hot tub, but looked fabulous. Overall, I am super happy that we stayed there, and would definitely stay there again!
