Not great, I got greeted by an upset man, no hello or anything, room smelled musty & smelled of cigarette in a non-smoker room:/ chair was broken, towel bar holder was broken, mattress was worn & super uncomfortable! Microwave smoked up when used! Coffee maker was dirty. All around a bad experience. Front desk man came to my room to spy & rush me out from check out, he took pictures of my car it looks like… super weird man. Said nothing just stared and surrounded my car… another creepy man in a weird white car parked in front of my door just looking straight at me, scary. Will not go back:/

Quick checkin. Clean. Quiet during our stay. The bed was comfortable (for me). The only downside was the shower did not fully engage so the tub filled with water (ankles deep) but overall a lovely experience. Dining is within walking distance (a quick drive).

Old and moldy

Just stay for the lower pricing compared to other places during long weekend rush , overall the place is old , needs proper upgrade with cleaning , upgrade the bottles and clean the molds in the corners , or install new toilet seat covers

The Sand Castle in was really nice for the rate on the room. However I wasn't to happy with the pet fee of $40 a night. Especially because they had no where to even walk the dog. Thank goodness we bring our own dog doo doo bags.

The staff was terrible to deal with at check in. Had pre paid reservations and was told they couldn't find it. So I paid for a room and then found out. That the hotel did have my reservations and charge for that. So I was charge twice for the same stay.

We just needed a place to sleep, shower & on the go it's clean, safe & not pricey that's why I chose Sand Castle Inn. It's located walkable to Costco, Target & driving 10 min to Carmel. It works for us bc we didn't spend time @ the property for the 2 days we were there.

Cheap for a reason

There is absolutely zero insulation from outside noise and while there wasn't much traffic noise, there were other guests who were inconsiderate and had very loud trucks they started between 5 and 8am. The shower leaked and there were some cosmetic issues inside the room.

I have travel to many places and never charged 45 dollars for a small dog fee, and 100 dollar damage deposit. This is suppose to be dog friendly. Poop everywhere on the lawn. No bags no garbage can. Breakfast was not offered but coffee available , no decaf because they said no one drinks it. Only available when office open.
