My travels this evening had no rooms available in several hotels locally. It was a surprise to land a night’s stay at the Hyland.

Party atmosphere not a place to sleep

The rooms were not bad at all except the walls being so thin. If you want to sleep and be in a family atmosphere then i highly dont recommend this place. Now if you are wanting to stay up and party and be loud, this is your spot. The people next to us had rap music, which i do like just not for the kids to hear, playing until 5am even after the staff told them to turn it down. I could hear them smoking, drinking, having sex, people coming and going etc. Even had people knock on our door at 3am looking for the party. So it depends on what you are looking to do there whether or not thus place is good for you.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the rooms have been recently renovated and are clean and spacious. Some of the furniture is still a bit dated and stained, the pillows and towels are worn but the beds are clean and comfortable. There is some noise from the freeway nearby, so would recommend bringing a fan or some kind of white noise.

Staff was really slow, difficult to understand. Once given a key, didn't even try to show me a map of where the room was located. Staff just said down there second floor. Location is really small, just like our room. The new renovated room are given the good ol' landlord special with new items. Bath has hair from previous tent or from cleaners. Cob webs just dangling in the ceiling. Room i got was 3 bed rooms, but honestly really small and no walking/leg room. Barely any usable outlets. AC unit can't keep up to the room. Appliances are dirty and not even well kept. For an "inn" its lower end with a HIGH price. I could've paid 150 more and gotten a better options but wanted to skip out and i got this place.

Mattresses have plastic covers and couldn't able to sleep at all. The bed sheet is moving due to this cheap plastic cover, making noise when you move, and sweating the side body touching mattress. Just felt like on hospital bed. Smelly sheets and towels, musty smell, hair on the floor, leaking sink and no hooks to hang towel or towel rods both near sink and bathroom. I don't understand why the other reviews have10/10 rating for these kind of hotels.

No dirty old carpet but new laminate floors. Lighting was terrific. We could actually read a book. The staff was receptive to any request. I was concerned there would be noise from the freeway but once doors were closed noise was minimal. Beds were fine. Not top grade but not lumpy or saggy. Slept just fine.

My room was not cleaned one of the days and the day that it was cleaned it was left open all day, we got home about 2:00 am . I was very surprised no one took my stuff but, at a female I had to go in and mske sure no one was inside before I let my daughters come inside. The day that it wasn't clean I had to go look for a cleaning lady to ask her for toilet paper.

Cable and volume on tv didn’t work. Beds are wrapped in plastic Asked staff for towels because we were only given 2 for the weekend and were told they don’t have any extra or completely ignored. Didn’t have any cups in room no hand towels in bathroom and the water pressure was terrible. Definitely not as described on the app.

I always enjoy stating at this property. Everyone has different reasons for their ratings. I LOVE a pool and that is probably the only disappointment I have with this property. Front desk is very accommodating .. check in/ out is always quick and easy. House keeping is superb.. I always leave a good tip for them👍😉They have a washer/dryer on property. Love that👍They fix any problems that arise immediately. Rooms are nice sized. Surrounded by great restaurants (make sure you eat at the VILLAGE PIE PLACE ON THE CORNER OF PIO PICO AND TAMARACK EXIT OFF THE 5 (within walking distance of this property.. gas station..grocery store.. Starbucks..OUTLET MALL A MILE AWAY.. Oceanside Harbor 3 miles away.. Very safe secure property. I kinda like it❤️👍😉Thank you always for a nice stay.

Loved the quick and nice customer service from the front desk. Accommodated us and let us check in early. The only issue I had was at night, there was no one at the front desk to answer our questions. The microwave was broken as well as the window-it didn’t lock. The AC had a broken cover which didn’t affect AC but we didn’t like it was broken. But other than that, our experience was excellent!! We enjoyed and would be back again!
