The entire hotel was in our room with us!
The ocean view was really nice. That’s where all positives end. The bed wasn’t too bad though the pillows were rock hard and the single blanket was paper thin. The curtains didn’t block out morning light, but who could sleep in with the child upstairs jumping off the bed repeatedly at 5am, the tile floors in the hallway echoing every single step and the walls so thin and without any kind of sound proofing that I COULD HEAR OUR NEIGHBORS ZIP UP THEIR SUITCASE. Seriously, Hotels.com should allow me to post the video I took where you can actually hear the people next door zipping their suitcase closed and talking at normal levels as if in our very room. You could hear the people above us (jumping child and all) talking, you could hear phones in other rooms loudly ringing, and every single person in the hallway walking/talking at normal levels. At one point at 6:30am I actually got up startled our room door had opened on its own. Nope… just didn’t offer any sound barrier whatsoever. I mentioned this to the staff and they said “we’ll make a note of it,” but short of gutting the hotel and doing major construction to properly insulate the walls with a normal amount of soundproofing I can’t imagine how they could fix the issue. And look, I am a seasoned traveler who expects neither perfection nor total comfort, but this is simply ridiculous. If I had paid $70/night maybe I’d have expected it. I highly discourage you from choosing this place unless you bring some serious earplugs.
