This was our first time staying in the Temecula Wine Valley. We very much liked the resort and made use of the spa, tasting room, and Vineyard Rose Restaurant. Everything was top-notch. A bonus was the ability to walk to neighboring wineries and the close driving proximity to historical downtown Temecula. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. We didn't have bathrobes in our room and the front desk quickly remedied the situation. My only negative comment would be the resort could use some updating. I understand South Coast is staying true to the Tuscan look, but a refresh would make the resort more appealing to all generations. Comment to Expedia: I was provided a receipt for the room from the front desk which showed our room rate was $109.38 less than what I paid Expedia for the two-night stay (this amount was exclusive of the daily resort fee). Can you please explain why there was a price difference? I booked through Expedia to save money not spend more.

South Coast was our second hotel on our 7-day babymoon exploring southern CA, and I have to say that this experience fell a couple rungs compared to the exquisite hotel experience we received a few days prior. First off, this is not a 4-star hotel compared to the 4-star hotel we arrived from where we didn't lift a finger. South Coast however is a glorified motel stuck back in time in during the 90s. The check-in process was lackluster and I don't think the front desk said more than a few words to us. The first thing I noticed when we got to our "villa" was how dirty the room with dust and overall unclean. I will include a picture below of the tissue I used to wipe the black dust/dirt from the heating blower. The same goes for all of the molding and nooks around the room. The material of the couch and chairs were faded, truly stuck back in time and haven't been touched in decades. Our front door had cracks in it that you could see through. The pictures on the website showcase these incredible villas, but that's not the reality. Here's the twist, the spa/pool, and overall grounds were incredible! We had the best time by the pool and my wife enjoyed the amenities of the spa. Walking the grounds was our favorite because the views of the vineyards and other gorgeous flowers and bushes was breathtaking. We want to love this place, but they need a major update for us to come back. Next time we'll Airbnb and use the spa and other amenities separately.

There was no soap in the bathroom to wash your hands, they do not clean the room unless you stay more than 2 nights and all the decode, electrics and facilities where directly out of the 80s, including the corded telephone in the toilet room. Plus the staff was quite rude and complacent when I asked if they can clean the room - they said no and when I said that does not make me want to stay here again, they simply said “ok”. I am certain the owner would have responded differently, which implies a major management and training issue…

I chose South Coast Winery Resort to celebrate my husband's birthday and Valentine's Day. We loved everything about the South Coast Winery Resort! It was cozy, relaxing and romantic!! We drank good wine, ate delicious food, and got rid of all our stress at the spa! The restaurant at the resort is top notch! They don't just have a cook; they have a Chef who has thoughtfully and skillfully prepared every meal. The spa there was also one of the best I have been to! We will definitely be back! Cheers!

The hostess took 15 minutes to seat the 2 families ahead if us. The pool was completely unattended. No clean towels, no drink or food service. Quite shocking forcs "resort". Judt seemed overall a lack of service on sn otherwise beautiful setting. I highky dont recommend, many wineries in the are try much harder.

I had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the room was lovely—comfortable, well-appointed, and truly inviting. However, there were some service issues that affected my overall stay. The front desk staff was only moderately friendly, and my key didn’t work on the first attempt, which meant I had to drive back in the rain—a rather inconvenient start to my visit. Additionally, I had made a reservation for 10:30 at the winery’s restaurant, but upon arrival, I was told it was closed, even though I could see other guests dining there. While the accommodation itself was delightful, these hiccups in service made the experience less enjoyable than I had hoped. I believe South Coast Winery has great potential, and with a bit more attention to service details, future guests might have a much smoother stay. Also to note, I’ve stayed at a few other wineries overnight and would recommend other options like Churon.

Beautiful spacious room. Everything was clean. Wish the bathtub was jetted. Being a winery it would be nice if there was a welcome glass of wine or champagne. Or at least able to purchase by the glass after the restaurant is closed.

Excellent getaway

Lovely Villa! Felt like we were in Italy with the gorgeous architecture, stone bathroom etc. Very clean room- pristine actually. Nice fireplace. Helpful staff. Beautiful pool and hot tub with poolside bar. Property is a working vineyard with an excellent restaurant, wine tasting and room service. We tried it all! We’d love to visit again.
