We enjoyed our stay at base camp. The staff was extremely friendly and the place was quiet and clean! Extremely convenient to walk just about anywhere downtown. We would definitely stay there again.

Base camp hotels are ok, remodeled 60/70’s roadside motels. I would say they always lack insulation between the rooms, so it is noisy.

This was our second stay at Basecamp. It has a very charming vibe with a wonderful lobby and exterior fire pits to hang out at in the evening. A little more attention to minor details would make this place a lot cooler. (on our first stay, we enjoyed beers at night in the bar/lobby. Good vibes. This time the music was so lame, we went down the road to spend our time.) With that said, the staff was very nice. The beds and rooms are very comfortable and the price is excellent.

I really enjoyed Basecamp overall. I've been to the South Tahoe location before, so this time I decided to try Tahoe City. The service was just as excellent. I was a bit disappointed that this location doesn’t have a café like the South Tahoe one, and in mid-April, breakfast and brunch options nearby are pretty limited. Still, it’s a great time to visit if you’re looking for some quiet time and want to enjoy the beautiful views — the trail to see the entire Lake Tahoe is within walking distance.

Basecamp is a great stay for either your summer or winter get away and the best part is they are pet friendly

I expected more!

The room had a musty smell to it and having been redone not a long time ago I expected it to be in better shape. The hotel was being used by temporary workers in the area and at 6 AM you could hear the trucks backing up with the beep-beep-beep. Also for some reason some people were outside the rooms talking for quite a while. As the title stated, I expected more for the amount of $ I was charged.

The hotel is nothing super-fancy but very very nice, the room was comfy and clean. It's a cross the street to a supermarket, a bus stop, you can walk to several different restaurant, they have, at the reception, a warm area where you can sit have a (free) coffee and pop corn and an excellent variety of beers (not free, but at an ok price), the staff was always nice and available, anytime, and in fact I have to thank Casey for his kindness and understanding because, the morning I was leaving, I had an unsuspected issue and he has been extremely nice and supportive, patiently helping me solving my problem.
