Family vacation

We spent four days at Mandalay Bay with our two kids, ages 11 and 14. Overall, our stay was enjoyable, but we encountered numerous fees, including a daily resort fee with tax of $56 and valet parking for $40 per day. Unfortunately, the pool service was lacking; staff often seemed uninterested and unhelpful when answering questions. We reserved beach pool seating on a Thursday, which cost $180 for two chairs and one umbrella but ended up with four chairs and two umbrellas. It felt worth it for the comfort and all-day shade provided, along with complimentary water on ice and attentive staff moving the umbrellas to ensure optimal shade. However, the beach pool was closed for most of the morning, and the service team could not provide information regarding its closure or when it would reopen. While there is a lazy river, keep in mind that floating tubes are an additional cost of $30 each, although you can bring your own and inflate them at a designated station. The hotel offers a variety of dining options, including a café near the room elevators that we found enjoyable. The poolside burgers were decent, too. Our room was clean and satisfactory, but the absence of a refrigerator and restrictions on using the mini-bar for personal items were disappointing. Additionally, we experienced a delay in channel changes and navigating the TV guide. We also visited the shark reef, which was impressive, though the experience was relatively short.

The highlight of my stay is the pool and the lazy river. Casino, restaurants and shows were great. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. However, my room is connected to the next room by a door and I can hear my neighbor talking even when the door is closed. Room check in was also slow, staff were helpful and friendly but the line was long and it took more than half an hour of waiting to check in.
